No if people want to steal then you can do something about it!
either find someone to pick up the boards from the other side or find a way to make it so if people want roleplay as thiefs and scammers then you find a way to roleplay as vigilante's
except the only problem is thiefs and scammers have the advantage because since everyone has peaceful on,
its impossible to attack them and kill them.

That is the biggest problem, make it so that /peaceful is off when on boats, and that we can board others, that way we can have deck fights, finally, when someone dies, don't put them come back onto the boat, its stupid, like 2k1 re-spawning all over again.

Hmm i think peaceful should be changed so that you can be attacked and killed, you just dont lose exp or anything.

1: Peaceful should be removed after 1 of 3 reasons
1) Player removes peaceful
2) Player levels up to level 2 and it removes (or maybe 3)
3)Player attacks another player a warning pops up and if continues peaceful will be gone

As for dying
Death by Monsters = Lost in stats and exp
Death by Players = No Lose other than your pride and maybe a body part (Or if you want some lost make them lose some unbagged unwielded item

I like that, especially the first part. Newbies should be invulnerable until they attack another player, or level up to a point where they can at least have some chance against attackers. Peaceful should be disabled for all other players.

Take peaceful away, but don't let people lose stats or exp when killed by a person.

You shoudl lose certain items,
because when you die or n graal's case
you are knocked out for a long time (kind of like being wasted in gta3) then technically people could take stuff from your body,
also if someone scams you, you want to kill them to get whatever they stole from you, back.

Loss of items at death will only result in MORE griefing. We already have enough griefers on 2k2(Porky, Brad, Eric...etc. No offense ).

Pkers should not gain anything from killing, also I don't think peaceful should be disabled, BUT if a player in peace mode uses his/her weapon on another player then it should shut off.

Peace mode needs a timer so you can't turn it back on when someone is killing you. It should be just like unstick me, and if you are hit then it's timer restarts. It should take like 30 seconds of standing still to turn it back on.

Instead of having it taken away if you swing a sword... have it where if you say /peaceful it goes for ever.

Because there will be someone who will run in front of you when you kill that mushroom and then he'll PK you.
