I'm a "Soon-to-be Playerworld manager", are you?

I'm not really, I am just noticeing the extremely high numbers of low-quality, playerworlds "coming soon" and such, Its not like we don't have enough bad playerworlds online as is, all people seem to want now is to be the mighty owner of a playerworld, no matter how bad it is, I just wonder, why, Why do you want to be the owner of a playerworld that sucks, Why do you bother to submit something that is almost entirely plain and levelgenned, As far as i can see there is a big wave of "new" playerworlds coming up, and I just hope the PW's team marks hard.

If a PW fails, Can it re-submit?

Some people that has got tired of Graal obviosly would either quit or try something new, either to be a staff or even higher, make your own server.. I think will drives the people from the idea of your own server to a submission.

Okay, Don't get me wrong I'm not Anti-NewPlayerworld, I'm anti crap playerworld, there is a whole bunch of really kick-ass looking pw's coming to, I just wanna know why people start a PW project with no experience or skills in really anything.

Its almost always a group of freinds, either, from real life or from graal, that are bored or power hungry.

You can't expect Graal to turn to low quality servers to brilliance within a few weeks, this is something that takes time. You get better servers than are online now to get submitted, then eventually you work your way from there

Almost everyone ethier thinks of making a PW, or tries making one within their first 6 months of playing graal. I know I did back when I started.

Nearly all of those Playerworlds started by newer players with few skills never end up submitting, or even finishing for that matter.

Yes, I've had alot of friends that have tried to make a PW and end up never finishing or giving it to someone else to do and then nothing gets done and it never gets submitted. Its a waste of time but atleast it gives people something to do and hope for.

Yes, well, I can promise you that you will hopefully see a new playerworld bent around fun (PK Sever like reg servers) That has challenging quests that actually tie into the story line, and npc's that you can use for both fun and PKing. Also NPC's that do different things according to your AP, and greatly designed levels. Don't want to releas eanymore info of this pw at this time, but it is not one of those playerworlds taht are going "beyond graal". We're keeping the tileset graal has now, and the bodies. Beyond-Graal servers are just overrated. Good Graphics does not equal good gameplay. But hopefully when this server is finished, you can get a grasp on what "a full graal experience" Means.

Why do you care? First off, if the playerworld is crap like you are saying most of them are, then they won't pass and be put up.... simple right? If working on a new playerworld is fun or enjoyable to someone, who cares how good or bad it is? Why are you judging their fun and enjoyment? Most people don't even submit the playerworlds they create, since most of them know that they don't have much of a chance to be put up, they just do it for like a hobby/experiment. I just think that your message is extremely ****y, and if you are going to be a future manager and *if* people think your playerworld is crap (as most of them do with new playerworlds), will you be ready to defend yourself from your own statement?

this brings up an interseting subject, you know people have higher and lower ability's and skills, I"m not talking RP here, I'm talking about like creativity and stuff. if someone's going to try real hard to do something and put a lot of time into it, do you think they'll be doing it so someone like you can call it a crap player world?

anyway experience comes with trial and error, maybe one day they'll make something great and look back and go "woah when I started I really sucked but good thing I kept going with it" kinda like pole vault... anyone out there pole vault?

I wanted to start my own playerworld at one point because I was sick and tired of dealing with incompetent and corrupted staff.

SL2 Was my Playerworld to start with as you know well.

Any work I do on A PW is kept private until its good enough for the graal public to give constructive critisism (wtf sp =/)

Confident, yes. ****y, n-yes.

What I was saying with the no skills thing was more like, get a bit of practise making levels, work for a server for a while, find out how things are done, THEN start a playerworld, Well I would see that as a more Ideal route to success, but its not Required.

Some people want to be owners... I simpley want all my ideas put togther in one place, where people can enjoy them... But I can't put all of them in 1 PW, without desrying that PW, that's why I satretd mine... anyhow...

I also agree with skills... that's another reason for people working n Graal in general... they simpley try to improove their skills.

well i must admit, i feel bad for people now adays.

i wouldnt dare try to get a pw up with the system like it is =)

its not bad, its just hard as **** to get one up =D

All I did was turn in a overworld with level quality that now i wouldnt even let near enigma, to Link (PW Admin), he looked at the map, then sent it to stefan

stefan was the longest part, he took months, then after that i got an email:

Enigma Playerworld

Enigma has been accepted and will be put up in 30 minutes
Your account: Warcaptain_Enigma is made level 4 rc.

You can make your rc accounts by loading gpips.txt and adding accounts ie:
Enigma_GP1:*.*.*.*

I do agree aswell that alot of the playerworlds that are "Soon to be" are pretty lame, and low quality. Everyone thinks that playerworlds can be made in weeks. Im afraid they are qutie wrong, playerworlds take months.

I've only put one playerworld up in my time, and that was Andor. It lasted for a while, then went bad due to major lame staff problems wich rather pissed me off. That was why I left.

I'm acually working on a playerworld now, im not discussing much about it as of now. I started making our site tho, I guess I will allow you guys to take a peek at that. Its not complete yet, so please dont judge. Its at the stage were we are adding CGI scripts and what not.
