Death (Unixmad, Stefan, Developers, Read)

When a player dies, he should go to a sort of limbo. A level that is kind of like the underworld, and if a player stays in this underworld, a preiest, or magi with the right skills could resurect him, otherwise he walks through a portal and creates a new charector (start over again with nothing.)

It should also be harder to kill someone, what constitutes of a death now should be more like unconciousness, where you can be robbed until someone heals you, or a Graal day goes by.

Again, not a perfect idea, but would certainly make alot more sence than having people re-spawning in the middle of everywhere.

It would also force killing to be more RP based.

Just a thought

Ray

good idea, but it would really suck if some pker killed you and you have to restart. Perhaps have something like this, but without the who restart. Instead, if a preist or someone doesn't bring you back you lose a stat, like now. But if they do you don't

No. Losing characters is a no-no.

Losing a character would be very very bad for the average Graal 2002 player. It would discourage a lot of people from playing...

In other words, you wouldn't need to start over if someone trys to PK you. This would probably work like every time you go unconcious, your max hp goes down, until you get to 0 then you die and need to make a new person. Also I like the old "saint" idea where you have protection from being killed until you yourself kill somone; but make it only until you reach a certain HP level. Then your on your own.

If you wanted you could find a priest or wizzard or something to try and restore your HP from a kill for a price

HP would restore on it's own after a few graal days. (while you heal/recover)

This would also allow for RP police/shariff or w/ever and the towns/kingdoms could hold execustions for breakers of the law if they were caught

It would be fun.

You need to get out of the mindset of the old Graal (pre 2001) where it was bassicaily a sprite based Quake with quests... if Graal wants to become a serious RPG, some "Game rules" will need to be coded into the gameing system, otherwise it will all be a joke, players will get pissed off, and Graal 2002 will just die off once again.
