Here's a little guide to farming:
Farming isn't exactly difficult to do. By farming, I really mean growing corn and trees, ebcause that's all you can do at the mo, I think. So, here's what you need:
NOTE: I will also include, in this guide, how to make bread.
Shovel x1 (Crafted in Starting Island)
Watering Can x1 (Crafted in Starting Island)
Bread Stack x1 (Crafted in Starting Island)
Scythe x1 (Crafted in Starting Island)
Coal x? (Mined in Starting Island)
Right, so, presuming you have these three things, whip out your shovel. Start digging on any patch of grass until you either get a normal Tree Seed, or a Corn Seed. Obviously, a Tree Seed grows a tree, and a Corn Seed grows corn. The tree process has already been explained by DragonX2. For corn, the process is harder. Once you get a corn seed, go into your inventory and drop it, then double click it when it's on the ground to plant it. Wait until it starts to grow, then start watering it with your watering can. It's good to plant either near a well or some water, so that you can keep going to get more water. Now, for some reason it doesn't show you when it needs watering anymore, so you have to just keep watering it and refilling, and then repeat, until you have grown a full corn stalk. Once you have grown it, you will be able to chop it with your scythe. So, do so. Pick up the corn. Voila. You now have corn. It can be eaten, but doesn't heal nearly as much HP as bread, so let's make some.
Find a windmill. I only know of two.. one in the starting island, and one in the main island. But, I haven't explored much. Once you find a mill, press A at the door and it automatically makes the flower. Then, go to the bread making house, wherever one may be. Once again, I only know of two, myself, from not exploring. Go in the house and press A at one of the little stands. You will automatically roll the flower out into dough, so long as you have water left in your can. Once that's done, you'll have an uncooked loaf of bread. Use your bread stack to pick it up, and go put it on the shelf in the bread oven. Wait a while, until the bread goes nice and brown. It probably burns if you leave it too long (I don't know since I've never burnt mine :P), so watch out for that. One it's the right colour, pick it up with the bread stack again, and press A to pocket the bread.
Yay, you have bread. It gives back like 300 hunger, so make quite a few of them and store them for whenver you're hungry. I know that's what I'll be doing all day tommorow. :P
Payce.
NOTE: I put a question mark by how much coal you need, because.. well, I guess it does't matter. You need at least one, so unless you're a dope you shouldn't need any more to make one loaf. |
