Martin Luther changed that for all of us. He read it himself and found out the real truth. The Pope had been lying to everybody because they couldn't read.
Also, maybe once you grow up, you'll see that God can make life easier. Also, don't roll your eyes about the stereotypical Hell. It's worse than you can imagine.
