Medivia : Review

There was no onlinestartlocal, but a start level was specified, they claim to still be working on an onlinestartlocal that will introduce you(They want a private server, not a full online server yet.).

The level they told me to start had nothing special in it, no intro or anything, that makes things a little more difficult, so I decided to look at the map. The map is truley amazing, even though it appear as if it's only half done. The center of the world seems to be done(And done amazingly well), but the outer levels are empty.

It's a huge overworld, but it would be really nice if there were a few inside levels. I couldn't find any levels in which a building linked to an inside level.
There doesn't appear to be much of a storyline, but this will probibly be fixed once they finish an onlinestartlocal to introduce you to one.

After looking around a little, I saw a level that gave you the inventory npc thingy. This is yet another server that has new GFX when you press Q for weapon selection. It can display items, equipment, and your current status. I think it could use a little work, it took a few times to figure out what buttons I press to select stuff, but overall I think it's pretty neat.

After looking around a little more, I found a level that loads the GUI, which is pretty cool, displaying your HP, MP, and AP. However, It looks VERY similar to that of Maloria.......

Overall: The levels on this server are amazing. But I see very few NPCs on the overworld aside from a few here and there that will say things to you. I couldn't find any quests. Hardly any of the buildings have links to the insides. I understand that the Medivia staff only want to try and get a private server right now, but I think that the overworld needs to be finished up before that.

It's a great server, I had fun reviewing it.

(I personally think that if there was a server with Medivia's levels and Gaia's NPCs, it would completley rule, just my opinion though).

Yes, but it got a good review, it didn't fail miserably like many PWs do.

If they link the insides up and put some more NPCs and stuff to do, I'm sure they'll be able to pass.

Medivia is really good I think. Im supposed to do scripting for them, but im kinda really busy at the moment and cant right now.

But im going to try and get some more free time to do so. I think Medivia will be a GREAT playerworld. Nish and Viktor did a great job on the levels. And I hope that if I get more time, I can make some good scripts for it, to give it that last little touch of effectivness.

Anyways, thats all.

No, actually I didn't know that. I asked Psyker a few times what I do if one happens to pass, but i never got a reply. I would have contacted him before passing a PW anyways.

I have sent you a forum PM. It'd be preferable if you can catch me on AIM though.

That WOULD be a lot easier than this all. PW Reviewer Reviews it, Psyker Reviews, Nemesis Reviews.

Not to mention the fact that all three of them need to pass it. If it is going to be this way, then 2 out of 3 should have to pass it. Or just one person reviews and pass/fail it. You all have different tastes, and so does everyone else. You might not want to play on it, but everyone else might.

I don't think server owners should say "Well, we have about half of it done, let's send it in then ask for a private server". They should do everything possible offline, THEN send it in and request for a private server. They are just taking up space like that

The thing is, Private servers are used to debug. I.E. if you script for NPCserver, you obviously cannot test it offline. So, you'd have to have it onling some time to test it all. Okay?

I know, but having an overworld half empty isn't completed to the best of their abilities.

Good review Jinx, I think Midevia will do very well and I agree with whoever said that thing about having your whole playerworld completed to the fullest (excluding the NPC testing of course) before you send it in, I mean why take the risk of having them say, "Sorry If only you had put more time into it". =/ So good effort and hopefully you guys will get it up next time you send it in and I hope to see what kind of systems you guys have on there. Anything new and outrageous?
