the thick section that comes from the border at left and crosses beneath the rose and to the right, turning into lines, could stand to be taken out. It's distracting in the picture. Same with the border at top...it needs to be darkened a bit. Other than that it's a nice picture.

its says Birdbird_D in the coner Kawii.

Anyway the use of monocrome color gives it an extra emotional feeling like some one has died that you loved or admired. The rain drops on the rose and around the flower further more add to the dept of the sad feeling. The dry circle around the rose thats dry sorta is saying that the image that the person left will for ever go unchaging and untuch because of the bond that the flowers owner and the person who died. The borders go to say that it may have been a while ago or that the death or ending of the person maybe have been a tragic one (or you just want it to look cool).

I know the whole speculation is about death, its mostly due to the fact that i watch this drunk driving video with people dieing yesterday. It disturbed me because I HATE HOSPITALS. So many bad memories...
