the problem with Katanas they are just for show, and most people cant use a Katana if their lives depended on it, and big broad swords just rely on strength so a big person could smack the katana out of your hands(and your smile will go with the katana) and as for dodging, blocking with a sword is a useful thing, and against fast, nimble peoplemaybe a concealed gun or dagger would help

the only noticeably good thing about the katana is that is easy to slash with because thats all their really made for, they can slash and hack, are crap! if I went into battle Id have my handy bastard sword and a dagger(hidden) and maybe a glock if I was losing =)
