Stefan says "most people don't support 3d gfx" or whatever...yet I go on renegade...hmm only about 30,000 people have 3d things on renegade? Hmmm...only over 100,000 people have 3d things on UT? Oh...but what happened to barely anyone has 3d support? Renegade using DX8, you need a good card to work it well, which means alot of people have good ones....

I think the problem isn't with people not having it, I think the problem is Stefan hasn't made anything quality enough to attract 30,000 people. Hmm..I think thats obvious...

Point:

work on g3d!!!!! or add 3d features (.x support) to graal!!!

Omigod, Soul Blade, you mean there were 30,000 people all playing a game that needs a 3D card, and they all had 3D cards?! That must mean everybody has them, because you've certainly chosen an excellent model for your statistical analysis!!!

Most graalians have older computers...simply because their parents are too stubborn to spend money to upgrade or to replace.

It is nice, however, that Stefan tries to make Graal workable for those with older machines. But still, it would be nice if he upped the requirements a little

You must have read what I posted in a certain private forum because that is exactly the same idea I had. GMAPs just hold vector heights, I believe, so it couldn't be that hard to interpret them into an actual 3D field.

I nice thing would be just to keep the 2d graal and make the 3d graal. That way older computers can go on 2d graal and do the yippy yahoo hat thing and the people that buaght a 3d accellerator can enjoy a 3d environment. The only REAL thing stoping the other people from going to the 3d server would be ther GFX card. Just like it is the only thing stopping them from seeing lights, one of the most decorative things on graal.

I see no point in not making a 3d game. A lot of 3d games dont absolutly NEED a 3d accellerator. Take half-life for example. It is a compleat 3d world. IT doesnt need a 3d acelerator to run it. Although it make it run WAY smoother if you DO have a 3d accelerator.

Examples Kai...if there are many people who have a 3d card for Renegade, then there are alot more. More people with 3d then without.

It doesn't prove a thing. So 30,000 people have 3D cards. Maybe 3,000,000 people don't. Renegade aims at a different target audience, you can't compare user counts or anything of that nature.

I don't think hes trying to make graal with low requirements to help others, I think his computer is the one that sux , lolz j/k They need to have two different versions of graal to download.

Graal 3D-A graal program which has the same concept as normal graal but better tiles, npcs, gfx, that cant be supported with crap pc's

Graal 2D-normal or present graal

Usually its not the computers its also the internet connection that can slow people down
