Then just make the outlines, then select a bit of tree which can be repeated a lot of times, press ctrl+c and click somewhere in the outlines, it'll spread itself

Making Edit NPCs for trees would be pretty tough...

Then you wouldn't be able to properly make use of editor NPCs either.
