Poll Time! Should faheria....!

Should Faheria use the GMAP System? Mmmmkay has already contacted Stefan about it. Here's what Stefan said on the main forum:

It's a program to make gmaps, maps with fractal
generated heights. In the game you need to set the
gmap as map (there are 2 secret ways of doing that )
and then open a level that is part of the map. In the
Graal editor you have terrain grids which can be moved
up/down to edit the terrain without needing to open
the Terrain Generator for little changes.

Servers need special permissions to be able to use
gmaps. For normal playerworlds its probably not good
to use it because you need a lot of gfx and stuff because
the old tiling doesn't work (only for inside houses).
So, do you (the graalians) want Faheria to be made with GMAP (and our own tileset for the GMAP) or do you want Faheria to be like every other Playerworld?

Hmm. I think you should go without, if only because it's less work and Faheria has taken long enough already.

Without. Definetly because like Kai said its already takn Faheria ages to be completed and if you do decide to have gmaps you will need to remake lots of graphics which will only take it long to be completed.

If they use GMAPs they will probably finish Faheria faster. Mmmmkay said making levels with GMAPs is a lot faster.

Not once you've already got a huge world made without gmaps. Unless they haven't really got as much as time would warrant...

Holy macaroni, you are right. If they use GMAP they can't just add terrain to the current map.

I'll vote no.

I for one think GMAPs suck greatly, they look like crap. I like the old school SNES High Quality RPG style (high quality RPG as in CT, Terranigma...). GMAPs is just 3d bull crap that makes levels all nasty and colorful, uck..I just hate them....even with a new tileset it would look like crap.

No way, using a GMAP is too limiting!

and you would have to redo every damn object because gmap would make them 3D... and these objects you can for example see on 2k2 don't realy fit into the background... so it looks absolutely nasty X_x

I think Faheria should stick to using tiles. Listen to Shad, using Gmaps is VERY limiting compared to using tiles and you need a very large and skilled team of graphic designers to get anything done =P

Alright then, we're staying with normal tiles then. Thanks for everyone's vote and opinion.
