What is the matter with playerworlds?

My views:

Everyone that tries out making a level and makes a semi-sucessful one, or a new scripter makes a pretty cool NPC, The over whemining majority of them decide to make a playerworld. Is this the right mindset?

Do we let people who have no Idea how to run a good playerworld, who just started graal, or has childish steriotipical Newbie server Ideas to make a playerworld?

I have no problem with people making playerworld but I have a problem with the mindset of the new players.

Players play on a server and say, "Can I be staff?". The server owner says no. So what do they do? Make thier own playerworld. Just for power mainly. So what can we do about this?

My Solution would be to make a stronger filter for playerworld application to be sent through. Some servers with innaproperate material made by newbies with a hunger for power have gotten throught (not namming any) So how do they seemingly get by?

Would maybe an account exsistence limit be set up? Such as your account must be regesterd for 1 year befor you may star a project?

What solutions could we have to make the playerworld community a better one to be a part of and not a playground of new playyers with FTP.

Any ideas? :confussed:

We didn't have a playerworld team that knew good levels from bad back then.

Gah...

I hate it when people with lots of experiance says they are making a PW.

Well maybe soon enough you will realize the hardships of it, mainly, lack of anyone who can provide any help...

Only people you have known for a while will help, and if not then only those with no skill...you end up doing everything yourself, which proove near impossible.

I disagree.. The whole reason of being a owner is to work hard. The reason most poeple's playerworlds don't get up is because the owner does not do any work, and has all the LAT's do the work. If the owner didnt do 75% of the playerworld, I'm pretty sure it would blow. Besides if he didn't do 75% or close to that ammount he wouldn't really be owner. Thus he would be a founder.

Well at least tahts what I think :/

I'm sure you know how to do this, as do I. But one person is not enough to create a great PW. Maybe the average PW, and maybe a bad PW (which graal has the highest percentage of) but not a great PW, not unless you were willing to spend years on it. Although it is possible...you would need some programmng skills to make things like a auto-level-detailer.

If I didn't think it possible, I wouldn't be doing it. But you I believe have been staff most of the time, its very much so different to be the owner. Although I haven't been staff of anything for a long while (since CDA) I know this.

But if you simply care to get the average PW up, then don't listen to me. If you think you are great simply because you have been playing long, and have been in admin positions, don't listen. But if you are willing to take my advice it would save much time...so here it is. Get great staff to make a great PW, or you will be workng for a while. Otherwise quit...although my plans are different and I won't reveal.
