Providence: Getting Invited

Many people have had questions about getting the Invite flag on Providence, It is very simple; We want you to write an rp story aka. Character history. Basicly it tells a little about your character and their history. It tells us that you are capable of independant thought and roleplaying

Yours is nto expected to be nearly as long or detailed as this. Just try to amke it logical and interesting, and please we beg of you, no more I R A GOD stories *sobs* You may email your stories to: [email protected] (Malak) or give them to Tyne while he is on Providence, unfortuantly I dont know his email. If theres anything I havent covered feel free to ask me, or bug Virtue

I quit providence because there weren't many levels, and the ones that were there didn't seem that good. I wrote up a page long RP story and sent it in, then got the invite tag. The next time I logged on the invite flag was gone. So I wrote up yet another page long RP story and sent it in, and again got the invite tag. Then a couple days later I lost the tag again. It really began to get irritating.

Oh well the whole invite system sucks, i am capable of independant thought and i do know how to RP but i dont need to proove any of it to you, i will just stick to servers that let players play how they want to play and dont have staff who like to act like gods, Thank You

Good for you. We're stricter, more organized, and have a much more skilled playerbase than you. Go have fun somewhere else if you don't like order.

If I wasn't working on Murasamune I would probably lend my knowledge in script/gfx to Providence...the whole idea is very nice, and if I didn't have Murasamune to work on I would no doubt play there.

Ok I'm not trying to put down Providence, but -
My playerworld, The Divided Kingdom has:

-Better levels than Providence, and more that actually have things in them.
-Many things to do.
-Is also an RP server, but does not require an "invite" tag to let players participate. We give everyone an equal chance, and if they misbehave or break the rules, THEN we don't let them participate.
-Doesn't have a laggy system, and you don't move an inch per minute when you swim.

Well anyways that's just to let people know about us...We just got passed by the PW review team and they sent it to Stefan to be reviewed.

It doesn't actually say much, it only says that most players of Graal are more likely to be appealed to a server with the playstyle Bravo Online has, it does not mean however that one of the two servers is better or worse then the other one. Besides "the players" is a group, IceHawk is an individual, IceHawk himself prefers Providence, however this group that you refer to as "the players" prefers Bravo.

Time to get flamed by a bunch of mindless Providence cronies, and then loose my invitation and get banned, oh well, I'll do it anyway...

1. Your invitation system is pretty shotty. It makes people feel your server is better than they are, and they have to work to even play it. People already had to pay for the ability to go to these servers, why should they have to go to yours? But that only pertains to the people willing to write stories, the ones too lazy to write, or not origional enough could ask a friend to do it, or just steal it from some site, and you couldn't tell the difference.

2. When there aren't any staff on, all I see is people PKing. And thanks to your great body system, PKing is incredably easy, you can hurt people while they're paused, and the system itself makes it perfect for something like N-Pulse...

3. Graal RP is one of the worst types of RP ever, when you make it strict. It's hard to read, and annoying to type while you move, especially when there are much better ways to RP, like text, or animation, and some others.

4. There are very few people there, making it hard to RP.

bravo online never has players, ever, it's all RCs and there player accounts.

I think that we can all admit that yes Providence has some troubles, all servers do. I personally do not agree with the invite system either, at least not the way it is currently implimented. However it does have its advantages.
1. It does weed out most lazy people who have very littleto contribute
2. It does weed out most pk'rs, but not always *winks at merlin*
3. It is often helpfull to the players to have an idea of what their characters are going to be like and what their traits are before beggining to rp, it helps them roleplay in a more logical manner. This is opposed to someone one day being a murderer (pk'r) and the next a wonderous hero who saved a damsel in distress.
4.It allows the staff to get to know the players a bit, it gives us an idea of what people are interested in and what types of events they will enjoy.
There are more benifits, as well as {cant think of word for opposite of benifits }
Also there is a lot of stuff that we are working on and de-bugging right now that will be put on soon. We are constantly in developement, and it reuires play assistance, if you want a town built YOU have to rp it's construction. Staff are just there to make your lives more interesting and solve your problems, a wise admin once said "don't just add to the problem by complaining, help out, make CONSTRUCTIVE critiscm."

By the way noone commented on my rp story I thought you all would have at least noticed the little math problem

Hehe, even staff has to write rp stories, or at least that's what they told ME.... I'm just trying to emphasize that it isnt that big of a deal, just 5 sentances will do, nothing complicated or detailed. And hey, if anyone see's Gaz online tell him I desperatly need to contact him...
