why are all playerworlds flat?

wouldnt it be easier if when you got to the top you could keep going and end up at the bottom?

i think ill make Avalon like that

That's probably not a bad idea...but if you name your playerworld Avalon, I'm going to have to tear you to shreds.

He means so the left side of the map will connect to the right side and the bottom will connect to the top. Like the Earth, it would go around and around.

Thats a good idea...But my problem is, what happens when your map isnt a square or some other uniform shape? things could start looking majorly weird...

Why would it be? Because you used level gen and youve got like 50 levels of solid trees filling up the extra space? Or because you spend the time to meticulusly arrange all the levels so its in a perfect square? When you start building your world...things arent going to just line up.

Good idea Magellon, also a Globe for a map would be fun but take some time to script, code if you get it programed into the game.

That is an idea we implemented into Paradox. When you get to the top go to the bottom.

There is one problem with trying to make a "round" map...when you reach the edges, the levels won't stream, but only when on the edges of the map.

A friend named Zalon thought of this a long time ago, but the problem is that the globes are never circular. All the Final Fantasy games cheated; if you went off the top of a real map then you wouldn't come on the bottom.
