Where does this server sit now that Carlito has been fired and likely no replacement? To be frank, I am quite disappointed with how this was handled by all parties. Now it looks like a release is impossible.

I don't know how much Thor has said publicly, but I will say that he had the opportunity to have the server relisted last year but refused because of promises he was waiting on being delivered. He was too hard headed to budge so the server remains in limbo.

That's so weird. If it were me I would greatly prefer being listed on PC to any iphone nonsense, but I seriously don't know one person that owns an iphone or that plays mobile smartphone games.

The server was shut down. It was the original server. How does this happen?

It was my home server and waiting for it's official rerelease was the only reason that I've stuck around this long. A part of my childhood died today.

Didn't Alpho quit Graal? Yknow, which seemed weird given he was being all influential and whatnot with his attempts to innovate for the development tools and all that.

everyone should be aware by now that unixmad's concern is a unique ios server that has the potential to bring in great sales, he doesn't care if the pc playerworld lacks a classic server or not. there is no point in having a classic style server if nobody is going to play it!

gta / un would never be chosen since their concept collides with iclassic.

This is not correct. I have no other way to put this for you other than bluntly. In order for a collision of one thing into another thing to occur, there must first be one thing in the location where the collision occurs. If one thing collides with another, it can be assumed that the thing colliding into the other thing came second.

Which one came first, and which one came second? I would like you to answer that simple question.

You're acting like iClassic existed before GTA. That's wrong. Trust me, I was there. iPhone didn't exist.

by unique i meant each server has it's own theme, the combat feels slightly different (excluding era & zone)

what matters is that iclassic hit ios before gta could which is why stephan didn't want GtA listed unless there is a major change to the tileset and gameplay.

It's not even just a reskin, GTA was shaping up to be something entirely different that just happened to utilize the same levels for a town.

On one hand, I get Unix's issue, "it would be confusing to have two servers using the same content", but that wasn't actually an issue. They would present entirely different takes on the same product. It wouldn't confuse anyone and the two servers, if on the same platform, would be just as much competition for each other as any two classic servers would've been.

That's like saying Zone would confuse people because it used the same type of bodies as Graal Kingdoms. Or even more similar to GTA vs iClassic - I don't see Bomy Island and Kingdom's similarities causing one to get blacklisted.

Yeah exactly. I see people making the argument that we can't have multiple servers with the same theme, when the theme of Graal2001 (events + economy + hats) has been appropriated by almost every server. It's palpably bad logic to the point where it appears to be mental gymnastics.

Let's just face the facts: PC Graal is dead.

Unixmad is taking no effort to revive the platform and obviously doesn't see the need (it exists to keep iGraal servers coming, but he is obviously unable to see or understand that).
The promised "new client" will probaply never be released, and websites and forums are outdated, with graalians.com there are now even two "official" forums.

@Thor: Thank you for your work, GTA would have been the much better Classic. Sad that it had to end this way.

But let's all be honest, I knew this would happen on long term for 1-2 years. No movement on Unixmads side, probaply Dusty blocking the project aswell, and neither of them wanted to endanger their Cashcow iClassic, although there was no danger at all. Maybe Thor can now "let it go" and work on something, that is more promising than a dead platform.

I'm actually talking about right now. The GTA that is being stiffed in the now is not just something that iClassic is a clone of, it's was a unique project with new content that just happened to share a basic map.

And Bomy Island development is happening right now, and Graal Kingdoms still exists.
