Really hard with a playercount of 0 ? WOW (playercount 0 is like 1 month now)
Tig hasnt even removed the easter eggs on Kingdoms so what we should expect really?

From personal experience, I wonder if this is a case of merely saying the project is progressing and still on course that has been misinterpreted as "person said it might be released soon". Sometimes a rough summary of progress can end up like Chinese whispers.

I'm curious though, would people prefer such a server to be released... for the sake of being released and perhaps just another server to kill time on, or released upon completion for the sake of being easier to enjoy?

I'm not at all interested in this development, the only thing that seems benefitial is the possibility of increased sales, which may be benefitial to the pc version via investment.

A playercount of 0 on Graal Kingdoms has little to do with the development of Kingdoms iPhone. Our development is always slow during the school year because I (and many of the other developers) have university work during that time and don't have a lot of time to manage the project. During summer and holiday seasons the team always picks back up and we continue working diligently. The project is certainly not dead.

During the school year, tho, could mean all year round. :o Or at least the colleges around here. Is there anything else that can be "previewed" at the moment?

I'm not only interested in a new iPhone game, but hopefully it will attract players to the PC version as well. The PC version has been picking up lately with playercounts up in the 10's and 20's instead of the 5 or so that I have been seeing the past few weeks.

Hopefully the upcoming holiday's (thanksgiving, christmass, newyears) will provide an excellent opportunity to work on this project.

The PC format, I think, Is going to be used for development and then mainstreamed on the iPhone. that appears to be the direction graal is going.

Personally, I would like to see some changes to how graal works on the iPhone.

If the server is what provides the contend, why do we need multiple apps? Can't we just have Graal Online iPhone app then select the server you wish to play? It would still look awesome. I mean you can swipe finger left to right to scroll through icon's of the image with current player count. No need for Era, Classic and GK to all have separate apps?

And on that note, I am DYING for a RC/RC2 for iPhone.. Not piratical for uploading/downloading or scripting. But allows you to "fix" things on the server. Server options, small npc fix's.

Not saying that any of this is going to happen but it would be neat none the less.

Old west, really, it was a new idea but that never got off the ground with the first owner, it should have just been left alone, it's such a shame the more talented and experienced developers take on so much work with multiple projects and spread themselves thin trying to work on all of them, you only risk wearing yourself out and in the end you lose the desire to make those final steps.


If you are dead set on dealing with old west, could you perhaps speak with skyld and get permission to use Konidias's new style classic bodies for it? It's a shame such great ideas are left to stagnate when they could already be in use.

So now that Tig is retiring, what is happening with this? I was very interested in it, and now it just seems to be completely gone and nothing is happening with it. It's a shame all these new things are said to come out and they never do.

Does anybody remember when Unixmad announced hot air balloons and the such, but never came out.

Since he will also manager graal kingdoms.
You could see iphone gk as a spinoff from pc graal kingdoms i guess.

I understand this Smoke, but the thing is that it has been under development for probably 2 years now, and nothing new has come from it. Maybe a screen shot like was posted a year or 2 ago?

I don't think really anything has been done to it since Tig left. Just looking at NicoX's hours on the server, I have more hours than him, and I just idled while at work all day.

I'm really excited for this server, and love that more information is being thrown out there. I hope for the best and good luck finding developers. I know how hard it is to find developers for Graal these days.

Very true! I must say you have done more content and serious development work in this game alone, which is surprising from like 9 years of around 5 managers. Facebook is possible to be huge as long as more contact for new players come. This is how we keep players long term. More players see the player count and advertising. Should not be a fail.

Here is a list of content for the release of Kingdoms iPhone.

What do you think? Enough?
Or should we add more for the release? Or better save more content for updates?


We need your opinion here.


Stuff for release:
  • Kingdoms (Dustari, Crescent Pirates, Zormite, Forest, Samurai), CastleWars
  • PvE, PvP, Dungeons, Maybe 1 Crypt/Instance
  • Shops for several things, Barbershops, Crafting
  • Skills: Mining, Fishing, Farming, Cutting trees and making bords for the beginning, more as updates later
  • Spell System (with proper cooldowns etc…)
  • Guildsystem
  • Quests
  • Armor like Mails, Helmets, Bracers, Amulets etc with real stats.
  • Tradeshops with Tradetables, dropping items, Trade between players
  • Playerhouses / Guild HQs
  • Gods with Buffs. (Player related buffs)
  • Few events for the release. More later.
  • Auctionhouse (Players can buy/sell items here)
  • Horses for travelling

That's enough for the beginning. Gk doesn't have more either. Just focus on the "storyline". I mean make sure that when you release iGK, that there is some sort of beginning, introducing you, like in Zelda or other rpgs. Make sure that you know where to head as a next to do a quest, dungeon or whatever. Make it so that you can finish quests and the npc tells you where to go next "go to this dude and he will tell you where you should head next so you "can save the princess"". Something like that. There is nothing more frustrating in a RPG, than not to know what your next goal is. The rest will work by itself (pk, trading, etc).
