A crazy idea for era. Lol

Well, I've always been a fan of the "instant action" type of games. I don't like hearing people complain about raids when all they do is sit at unstick me. :c
Anyway, here's my idea.
Get rid of money. Staff's always had a hard time balancing out the economy so why have one?
So, you'll log into Era. You'll be given 3 choices of guns. (revamp all the guns and make them more diverse and balanced) then you'll automatically join a gang or some sort of team. You get sent into a complete PK area with no PK zones to avoid idling. I'm thinking something along the lines of 4 gang bases and some sort of respawn room.
Now, I know this sounds plain crazy and it will never happen, but I thought I'd throw in my ideas anyway.
I think it'd bring in a lot of players, and be pretty noob-friendly. It'd fix usding, it'd fix scamming, and it'd just be super easy to add new content.

by this point you might as well just make a new server with those qualifications. This could never be Era.

The idea of an economy that was, well used to be self-governed by the people, is what made era unique, Now that the economy is controlled by the pawn shop, and prices of even the most expensive weapons were halved, the only thing left to do is have newer ways to obtain great weapons and well, an entire server completely PKabled, so we don't have idlers, and only when you log on are you actually playing because you won't idle in a PK zone without dying, and you can only stay in the hospital for as long as you are low on HP, otherwise you get warped to a random place on the map. That is all.

Would be easier to make a new server, or... play Zone since that's basically what you described.

There's always going to be an economy. Whether it's widely recognised as one or not is another topic entirely. Remove money, people will find other "Fair trade" avenues which will then become the economy.

Edit: And knowing the general attitude surrounding Era, I wouldn't be surprised if such avenues included more USDing.

There was some un-hosted server that was like it. Don't really remember what it was called, but it was like a Graal version of Counter Strike. It was so funnnn! I just don't see another way to fix people idling instead of killing each other on graal other than removing non pk zones.

You can only fix people of idling if you make the DC timer 2 minutes, instead of just disabling it all together.

The people who idle, or play events, or do anything that PK aren't sitting there in agony while they do it. Whatever they do, they do by choice.

I don't think all those people would like you ripping their choice away, just so you could have more targets to shoot.

If you're referring to Zone, it's dead because it wasn't taken cared of.

I thought the Sands of Glory project died after it went modern.

Yeah, Sands of Glory/Vesporia was awesome and I'd probably play it more myself it that was an option.

I disagree. If everyone gets their choice of guns for free and there is no money to speak of, why should there even be a trade system or a drop system?

Exactly.
I can honestly get whatever I want from my family and I still don't want an economy. The only people who want it are rich people. Like I said before, this server isn't very noob friendly. Let's face it, you're not going to start this server and go anywhere unless you either have friends or you want to mine your ass off for a week straight.

anfo's right, probably about only 1 in 50 new players actually work there way to get guns and into a gang. its way too hard to start off on era and our playercount will always suck because of it.

Or make a shooting range where within one place people can use any weapon they want and test 'em out. But cannot use them outside that level.
