Does a player have to be online for it to work?

I just opened the link from:
http://www.graalonline.com/zone/stores/upgrade

I noticed the account identification worked by the account I was logged in as on GraalOnline.com being provided within the url, but my account is not logged into a Graal client. Or would the server name being within those logs just be un-necessary information in this case?

Edit: Just worked for me.

Also I thought it was funny that I tested a video offer for 3 Gelat, for the sake of taking the least amount of time, but only received 2 .

I'm pretty sure I watched 3 different videos, all of them supposed to award 3 Gelats. Not that I'm complaining, it was just a test.

I just checked it again and 2 of the video offers I saw earlier are now gone.

There is however a new one called "Seduction lesson # 9 : GSpot".
What was that new PWA rule again?

No porn? wth, STEFAN, COME LOOK

Just to clear a couple things up and see how many people decide to spam my inbox with hate mail.

1. Classic subscriptions are never removed just because you upgrade the account. Removal is not an automated process. Stefan would have to do it manually and unless we request he do so it rarely happens.

2. Sharing/selling/trading/giving away accounts is enforced to the best of our abilities. Due to the time involved to research each account, I normally will only check on those that have had reports on them. Some instances of sharing turn out to not be sharing at all which usually leads to even more people complaining about it which takes even more time to reexplain why its not shared.

3. While I personally would love to see lifetime accounts exist again I do understand why they were removed. "Waits for the usual 'greed' response" If anyone were to think deeply enough they would realize that Graalians themselves caused the ultimate demise.

We bought our accounts and for the most part never paid for Graal again. Only those that played the gold servers ever bothered to pay. Some of us bought a few accounts so we could have alternate identities or bought one for a friend but still, never paid again. After a few years those accounts were handed down to others. Sometimes several others. Those people never paid either. Now people are buying said accounts for USD outside of Graal so they can have a classic account. Once again, Graal receives nothing for this transaction and in many MANY cases the owner is actually selling his account to several people but then claiming the account was stolen and getting it returned to him since he is the one able to prove ownership.

Graal cannot run on air, Stefan works pretty much 7 days a week for Graal and must also pay bills and eat to survive. Unixmad considers this a business (which it is) and deserves and income for it. The rule of thumb for most businesses is, "If you don't see a profit in 5 years, shut it down."

4. If you want to get into the whole volunteering thing I have an answer for that as well. We continue to do it so its still our own fault. If you don't want to work for free then don't take a staff job. While I do think it would be in the company's best interest to have paid staff that isn't what we are here to debate.

For those of you who actually took the time to read my rant, I thank you and will happily accept your hate mail now .

S&S's decision to remove purchasing of lifetime Classic hasn't really solved the problem though, if anything it's made newer players even more desperate to obtain these accounts, and more profitable for that small minority of account sellers.

A less punishing solution to the problem would be to provide a price and format which is affordable and worth purchasing to a higher number of potential players.
I can think of 3 different ways they can go about this:
  1. Make lifetime Classic subscription purchasable again.
  2. Reduce the price of Gold.
  3. Bring back temporary Classic subscription at a lower price than Gold.
(There is a notable exception concerning the idea of "free to play", but it seems fairly clear to me there's a big misunderstanding as to what this term actually means)

Sadly I suspect a movement will be made to eradicate lifetime accounts completely, this would solve this particular problem, but with everything else staying as it is, would also heighten the severity of another one: lack of talented developers and reliable server staff. Considering this is still a player made game, there would definitely be an indirect financial impact over time.

2012-05-16 08:07:09: 35 Gelats added on unholy (Unholy Nation)

The system is basically that when you complete a survey or so then SuperRewards contacts Graal and we add the Gelats. If they don't contact us then we don't add Gelats. Is it possible that some offers are tricky or they are tricking SuperRewards, in that case it can be good to complain to SuperRewards. Sorry for such problems, but it's basically a way to get things for free and they want something in return, either some info, doing some advertising, or selling some other product.
Now I'm confused... I did a few in the last few days and received only 36 I believe, should have had a little over 200...

From what you posted, are my Gelats going to other people o.o?
I was told that they work better on Unholy Nation though..
Or are they the servers that I am on as they go to me?

I know I did have 1,400 Gelats, but should have had more,
I was happy I did get some... Now I need some more. lmao

How are you finding videos?! Mine were all long surveys, downloads,
and car insurance... And I did notice they didn't give all that they said
that they would.

Some surveys you take all come down to (Sorry you did not qualify) >.>;;
Could take 6-8 minutes doing it only to be told you suck.

I've been seeing this topic discussed lately. I also believe if he wants it to go well, he should have paid staff.
However, you can take my word for it, if there was not the option to develop, which is also usually associated with being staff, I wouldn't have come back to this game around 2003, or 2007, or 2010-current.

I like the idea of hiring others volunteer wise, and I see nothing wrong with it. It is only the fault of the hirer
who is not selecting the best people for the job. I have people lie, join, and quit often, they were towards my
poor judgements. People who I thought would do well..

It isn't something we can avoid for the most part.

I suppose I should clarify for Crono, DevilLord and others. What I wrote isn't my entire opinion . If I had gone into that format the thing would of been a novel. It was broke down into some very basic forms. There are many more reasons why classic subscriptions were removed. I just hit on the highlights.

While I did say paid help would benefit Graal, that is not to say that I would ever want the volunteer staff removed. Many of the Graalians I have known in the past and present have gone on to use those skills they acquired in real life. Others have used it as a class project. They may not want to admit it publicly but Graal became their classroom and taught them what society would and would not accept.

Graal without volunteers wouldn't be Graal since this was Graal's intended purpose in the first place. A 2D world where you could actually interact and develop as a player.

This is EXACTLY why I came back.
I've mentioned this in the past and will do so again.

Graal taught me X and Y in middle school.
Graal gave me knowledge of Paint Shop Pro 7 and Paint, as well as HTML.
Graal has made me more aware of the arts and tools. I may, or may not
have been in Visual Arts if it were not from Graal. I'm not sure my personality
would have changed from loving the Arts, but I don't know if I would have
acquired as much to change my decision from Computer Science to Fine Arts.

I came back so that I could teach what I know, as well as learn more.
It is easier to teach the younger audience however, because the older
audience either knows, does not care, or are too stubborn to learn more.

I love Graal due to development, and the fact that you can learn and teach.
If some learning and teaching mediums of Graal weren't so costly it would
be absolutely amazing. Mainly learning to program... I'd assume one of
Stefans favorite things. Or only something he is good at since once you do
it everyday you start to lose interests you might have once had.

As for the Classic Accounts.. I still don't understand the problem, mine is useless...
I forgot I still had OB mode and 60 second messages on dev servers.

It will only be good when Shaded Legends goes classic.
My opinion will then change of course.

Yeah, I hate when this happens waste 5+ minutes doing surveys only to see this.
It could at least tell you the survey you are doing does not count as a survey...

At least they care about opinions.
