Not to be a smartass, but here are a few reasons why you're dumb:
1. They don't need to take money gains away to have gang points be a currency. That just gives less incentive to raid. (if you have a complaint about how the money barely pays for ammo, how is taking away the money a logical solution?)
2. Gang points are already going to become a currency once the gang point shop opens. (whenever that is.)
3. Gang points are already non-tradeable
But you're heart is in the right place XD
I feel like people raided more when the points just kept going up instead of reseting on a weekly basis. Of course, that might be just because of what someone said on another thread about it just being the novelty of the gang system and the expectation that the points will stop being useless eventually.
Also, going on what you said about the gang points being its own currency, how about kills in general being their own currency?
