I agree with fowlplay.

I wonder if increasing server prices and making Testbed Server more official/well-known would encourage people to help on existing servers rather than trying to start their own and failing.

I could only agree with increasing server prices as long it's only to make up for the revenue they would have received from the gold subscriptions due to the lift on trial limitations even then I question the necessity of it.

I think a price-discount for hosted servers would also add initiative for developers, say 10-20%?

Perhaps a 3-month plan at 29 Euros (41.79 USD) would entice new developers to try their attempt at it. It would certainly help if the server documentation was improved though, so players don't fall completely on their face after purchasing the server.

I'm sure the revenue from the iPhone and (soon-to-be) Facebook servers is relieving the pressure off of Graal PC to allow flexibility in the PC payment-model.
