You wouldn't fight with two shields, it'd be for travel and stat bonuses.

So...You'd sacrifice your ability to attack for that?

I mean I hate to be the guy raining on this parade but I haven't really found anyone able to answer me who actually uses two shields.

I think I can clarify what Kale means. Shields on GK give certain stats. Let me give an example. Phoenix Shield offers +2 speed. Wearing two of them might give +4 speed. Cool

I don't really think dual-shields will ever happen though.

Yeah. I was on the same page--I guess it would just be like Brigid's Weapon Restriction, so I don't see too much wrong with it. Maybe a STR prereq.

meh, when i thought of them i imagined newbs wearing dual-horned shields going into the dungeon to survive their way to a golden chest or something.. 30 strength is a lot to ask for, maybe 23 or so?

Dual shields probably wouldn't work but I do support being able to use the shield to block attacks outside of the sparing arena. It would be really good for lower level players with little armour class and very handy in pvp.

Don't fib. You imagined yourself running even faster. Or sporting both of your Zormite shields at the same time instead of just on the tables

If you did it correctly you could EASILY fight with two shields. Ladies, with some designs of shields those sides aren't just for decoration. Those could be used for some serious gashes while you deflect that random dudes sword of doom and smash his teeth in, Though generally speaking with a nothing but shield style fighting would require you to have yourself at the peak of strength to wield both + charisma to keep going.

True that the spartans did use the shield in the most versatile manner of offense and defense. Think of these three ways of applying offensive shield technique.

Shield Toss (Pro Frisbee Golf anyone?)
Gashing someones skull and or limbs into mush with the rims/sides of the shield.
Block with one shield, GASH WITH ANOTHER.

Though if you're looking for bludgeoning, you'd best be backhanding like a boss.

Offensive Shield for Added plx.

while ur at it can u make it so u can cast 2 spells at the same time.
maybe just give players 2 mouths if they need to say incantations for the spells.
this would be a good idea for making magic more powerful and now i can spawn twice as much food. thank you.

edit: if i say two alchemys at once will it make twice as much gold? this could fix the economy. another plus.

Funny but saying completely overpowering similar situations does not make two shields which is Armor and not actual skills into a weapon or a possible variation of character play.

I say why not. Make it like diablo 2 but worse when you do so.

On diablo 2 if you equip two two handed swords on a barb it lowers the damage to one handed damage for them.

But instead make a slight nerf so that you get a benefit of offensive power but perhaps allow parrying or use of both shields as a "block" / "defense"

I was thinking just that before I went to the 3rd page. Like exactly. High5

Basically, make it so if you have dual shields equipped then make each shield only give 75% of its defense/damage (if you add the attacks) toward the players total. This would require them to need both shields perfect for full effect rather than just one +12 and another clean so they can abuse the stat bonus. And also would only produce 150% rather than doubling their defense keeping it from being too overpowered.

Plus, due to the low maneuverability from 2 shields equipped, maybe a -speed could be added.

Next: Dual Daggers for Thiefs and Dual Swords for Barbarians. (Class specific prostuff anyone?)

GK can be fixed without a reset. The belief that a reset would fix alot of problems is silly. I wouldn't be against a reset if GK could actually handle one, but it cannot. Right now there's not enough content to support a reset, if it were I'd probably be in favor of one or a partial one (specific skills/stats).

An easy way do it would be to add some kind of spin / bash animations and then just make attacks do damage based on AC. Similarly, you could have a guard action instead that makes the player have x2 AC while they continue to block, but they can't attack or heal.

Interesting concept, but I don't know if either would work well. Dual shield is a weird idea. Neat, but weird.
