It's neither. Just simply the type of artistic style a DK would use as a weapon. Obviously inspired by those type of pieces but it's original on it's own.

Elk, weren't you the one who always went on about aerodynamic and practical blades? The shading of the tip makes it look not-so-flat, and almost like it protrudes from the sides at a point.

Enjoy your proportionate "sword."

I should mention that even at this size, this sword is nearly the same size as the player. In real life, at these proportions, the sword would still be insanely large for you to carry. In order to get "real" proportions out of Zodiac swords you're going to have to go to a size that leaves no room for detail at all... pretty much the size of default swords. Let me know how much Zodiac players enjoy showing off their puny lines of pixels.

That's true but if Zodiac already has weapons of that caliber, then you'd need to remake all of those in order to change the overall stylus

It pretty much is.

Zodiac has started a trend, and while it might not be good to continue the trend outside of Zodiac, trying to break the trend on Zodiac would just be a waste of time. All new swords would look like ****, no matter how well they are drawn, compared to the big massive swords. Players want to show this stuff off, and no one wants puny swords. It's better to just conform to the rest of the server in this case, in the end it's not like it's really hurting anyone.

If people have a problem with large swords, take it up with servers who are just starting out and doing the same thing. Catch it early when you have a chance to reverse it. But really, it's a tired argument. Sure, swords like this take it to the extreme, but in the end as a pixel artist it can sometimes be unsatisfying to work in such small limitations that we can't even draw what we envision and lose most of the details. Like I said, players enjoy dragging around huge-ass swords and showing them off, anyways.

i have no problem with it at all. its a cartoony game, no reason to have a realistic sized sword. WoW even has huge swords

This is true. But I don't think they're proportionally x2 to x3 the size of the player. Maybe about x1.25 but not 2 or 3.
