Armageddon hiring

Armageddon-SDE HQ is looking for someone to help script and finish up the server. Can't do it all myself, and I have a large amount of help requests in the npc scripting part of the forums, so I figured it best to go ahead and hire someone.

The server is all about guilds, and thats about all I'm going to say about it, because I don't want to disclose information out just yet.

Basically, the NAT that is hired will be finishing up some scripts I get stuck on, starting new scripts, and ensuring all scripts are "safe" and secure.

To apply, send me a forum PM. Tell me what you've made before, what server's you have worked on, what servers you currently work on if any, and how long you have been scripting on graal. Only gs2 applications obviously. I will send you more information after I recieve a forum PM.

Dude, how are you thinking of interesting people in your server if you wont tell anyone about it? All about guilds could mean anything.

This is not for my pleasure dude, its for you to get staff.

With all the servers being developed, I'd rather not see our ideas out somewhere else, so, if anyone is interested in helping a server focused on guilds, you can ask me more questions. I personally thought if there was a scripter looking around, they might at least ask.

I'm looking for scripters on Era and I've had only one person apply (who actually answered the scripting-related questions). It's very hard to find decent developers anymore, so if you're not providing any information you're probably not going to find anyone interested.

If you want to have more scripters you must just ask them. But I know it's difficult to find good ones (I know that problem from many other servers). And as you know, I am really buisy with my server zenox at the moment. But I must say, that I have (nearly) finished things like SQLite based item system, hitpoint system, costumized baddies (with pathfinding), party/guilds system and much more nearly alone. So you don't need many scripters but good ones.

Another problem is to find enogh free time because of school. But in the holidays I can imagine to have time for other servers too. But the most time I will spend on my own server.

Ok, I added a server description on our site that kind of gives a feel of what we are going towards.
We are hiring, still, for a NAT, GFX Team member, and someone who can work well with ganis.

Hop on the server, because if you can LAT, and do levels in the style we have, we will want to hire you as well.

Regardless, check out our site, hopefully it will do alot to bring guilds back and important as they once were on this game.

You've known about this server since a little after you joined SDE the last time, don't be all sour because you're not in it now. Besides, why are you posting that in a hiring thread? Please keep on topic.

I supplied a website that has screenshots on it. It's a simple concept, you go to the site, then click on screenshots on the menu. Its amazing what php can do!

Also, we need someone who would know how to make a system where it can find who killed who, and then put points towards the guild that person is in in a dbnpc.

Apparently its very complicated, and using player.kills to do it isnt working whatsoever. So any NAT that could, at the least, help us with this one project, please do, we'd be very greatful.

I thought you got 2 good NAT's

It's not that complicated. Come on

One really good NAT and an "assistant" NAT is really enough (LAT's should be able to script a little bit too).

You may want to consider a custom sword (which can still use the look and work the same as the classic swords) and hit detection system, then it'd be a breeze to detect who killed who.

You will get better results if you have custom swords also, i think.

Could always use default HD, but copy its detection to figure out who is hitting who.

You hire 2 NATs, yet you still need someone to script you something, you got yourself a GAT, yet you still need someone to make you a gui.
I'd put higher demands for my staff if i were you, or be satisfied with less results.

we're pushing the project pretty fast - we've tried to keep the concepts simplistic in their operation in a way that makes them easy to script to save time, but people only have hours to spend any given week on the creation process (and other times not at all) while balancing other things. while we do have a lot of staff members hired, we still need more to keep up with the pace we've set and hope to accomplish - hopefully when we preview, it can give us an opportunity to test the systems out and achieve some fun results - but we need to compile the server together and get it fully operational (and we don't have all the parts together yet)

And at that, we have 1 GAT, who isn't really our "GAT". Hes simply help, and he doesnt have gold. Hence the reason I have requested someone to make our gui's for us.

Ironically, i was coming here to post a "graal community" request, for anyone and everyone to help if they want to see a server like this up, at least temp help. We're pretty much 2 months to classic or bust.

Sooooo.....

Looking to slowly get a team together. We're going to need about 2-3 solid (by that I mean willing to work on stuff probably 3-6 days a week for a good amount of time) NATs, maybe a GFX or 2, and at least 2 GANI.

NAT needs to know complex gs2, not just how to script a soccer ball in gs2 (although we need one lol)
GFX need to be able to work with gui's as well.
GANI needs to be able to work with adding images in gani's, and doing complex player movement.

If any NAT is up for it, we could use, right now, someone to start working on a few things. I have some really really old things from our really old server in gs1 that need to be converted. Also, some things that can probably be done on testbed, simple weapons like a boomerang, ect. Forum pm me for now if interested please.

That list is a bunch of inactive members and members that quit or no longer participate in "GDT"
