No I'm not assuming they're going to keep it, what I'm trying to convey is that it's like replacing an old, beat up tire on your bike for a newer, but still beat up tire for your bike. Sure it's more new, but it doesn't add anything aside from it being on a gmap, so what's the point in changing what we have.
Yea, excuse me.. that level.

Dude the only thing we have default right now is a single level as far as I know.
How wouldn't a starter pack with scripts, images, and 8 more levels help?

Lets take your 'tire' example.

It's all wet out and you have a bald tire (which is the old default), You try and try to go but you're just sitting there spinning clueless on what to do.

But with a newer tire with tread (which is this new starter pack), you can grip the ground and move on to your destination.

Horrible example but it proves the point I'm trying to portray.

I think the problem here is that, expectations of the GDT as a whole were too high, i think.

Not really they're just the normal exceptions, but I never expected it to please any of the "elite" whom would rather bash a project than provide any kind of help.

...in any case...I'm hoping this is not a "done for good" project. Because it still needs some work, several people, including myself, could make this something worthwhile.

That's the point of it, there's a lot of newbies out there who can benefit from having a small world to melt and mold into something that they can call their own they just need the building blocks to do so.

This is by no means meant to be the end-all of packs, in fact it's more of an opening of a once closed-source project and it's up to the community and GDT to take it further and improve upon it.

No need to get personal, you're supposed to act in some sort of professional manner. I'm not acting like an elitist I'm acting like a LAT that sees new levels so he critiques them. Right now you just sound like every other kid that posts levels on the levels forum, gets critiqued, then says "WELL YOU'RE WRONG" or "I DIDN'T POST THESE FOR CRITICISM" (c wut i did ther?)

I think on the whole you need to CALM THE **** DOWN. All I did was post my thoughts on the levels and what I found wrong with them. I don't see how that's not offering any sort of help, well I guess I do. To the closed-minded, self-righteous *******s that compose the GDT, me saying that certain levels are nothing but filler and need to be redone and that certain specific objects are ugly and should be redone, it must sound like some sort of insult or me being "elitist".

Expectations for the GDT were never all that high. You pompous jerks are living right down to where I expected you to.

I currently devote all my time into leveling Babylon myself. I'm sorry if I don't find the GDT a worthy cost of time or effort.

e. But I still try to help in the smallest amounts by giving my thoughts on peoples levels. A number of people have benefited from my experience, unfortunately, a number of people also choose to rebel against my ideas and claim me to being an elitist.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I can guarantee that regardless of the look of the levels there would always be at least one LAT out there that would have issue with them.

This was meant to be simple and of Classic style. The end product was exactly as it was intended.

God damn you people. It's not that I have a certain issue with the levels or whatever. It doesn't matter what style the levels were meant to be in or if they turned out as intended, I have a right to express how I feel about them and somehow I turn into the bad guy when everyone says I'm just belittling the levels or being elitist. It's like, in the ideal world, all LAT's will just post their work and everyone will say "Awesome." and be on their way. Well I'm sorry, that's not how good levels designers were made today and that's not how they'll be made in the future.

e. Whatever. I'm done with this thread. Quote me and insult me all you want. Call me some "So-called elite". Tell me I don't have any right to critique the levels. At the end of the day I'm going to level on my server, and try to help levels designers that I think have area for improvement. That's all I ever tried to do.

I bet you Seph was one of those kids that was the last one left when the captains were picking their teams as children.

I'm right, you don't know what the **** you're talking about.
If you had a brain and/or actually used it, you would know that I was added to the GDT right at the ending of the project, there was about 3 insides left to do. Good attempt trying to 1up me.
