MSS wasn't open, not even in the task bar? This is weird, why is it hogging CPU?

Scanning..? Try opening it up and see if it's actually doing anything, and restart.

If I uninstall MSS i won't have any antivirus protection.

personally, i haven't used an anti-virus program in years and i haven't had a virus in years. all those programs do is slow down your computer if you know what you're clicking

also, try putting graal on high priority in the task manager

anti virus also made my moms computer alot slower, i don't use a anti-virus either.

See if it fixes your problem. If it does, then it's definitely MSS. Then reinstall it and it should be fixed. If it's not, uninstall it again and find another anti-virus.

Also, I don't use anti-virus either, but not everyone is suited to be unprotected :P

graal still lags...i turned off mss and helped barely? any more suggestions

Some AV programs scan in the background...I don't use MSS, but check your settings.

MsMpEng.exe is MSS's service...when this service starts to run it doesn't scan but it uses 89 CPU...any help?

no it's not scanning in the background just owning my computer
