Could probably implement some "Hide hours" option for profiles, yes. The only issue would be having a new global-flag added, but if it's important enough it wouldn't be a problem.

The only question is: do a lot of people really care or is it just one person who needs some help getting people to stop harassing him?

If it is a major issue that a lot of people think needs correcting, I would be glad to add an option in the Graal v6 profile system.

I have to say it's sad that this is even being considered.

If they aren't such a big deal, than why put up such a stupid debate as to why they should be removed? Imo, if you really care about some random person telling you that you have no life because of the hours you have spent on Graal, my first impression is that you actually don't have a life.. Maybe the emo people that are taking it so harshly really should heed what these newbs are telling them and get off Graal.

I have alot in total, but I don't care about them :P considering I was required minimum 4000 hours (which I passed long ago that time) as base to join Darkshire in 2006

Hours were mainly used as a sense of progress back in the day. Now everyone has well over one thousand hours on all their favorite servers and its not as special anymore.

I've been harassed about my 5K hours on Graal Kingdoms before. But I dont giving a flying fk anyways, i have thousands of hours on each server. I have at least 3-5k On UN too from when I use to play. get over it. a lot of people like to idle and enjoy coming back every 15-20 minutes to messages. Just like when you keep opening your phone for a text message, its just a way to waste some electricity by leaving your computer up, but for people its a form of communication, much like texting-calling-emailing-and/or messanger services.

Times change
Pretty sure hours stopped being proof of oldbieship when people started gaining 4000 hours in 2 or 3 years while people that had been playing 7 years still had that amount.

The only reason such things are a problem are because people choose to act infantile and make such things a problem in the first place.

Obviously, at some point or another, we all made a decision to download, install, and play and/or develop on this game. That fact alone negates any logical reason for onlinetime to be a problem, let alone be enough of a problem that some new option needs added to rectify it.

Little, irrelevant, insignificant things like this take away both from otherwise quality suggestions & improvements, and from time to work on presumably more important endeavors.

I mean sheeeesh, are people really worried about onlinetime harassment more than they are the deterioration of the game (both technically and socially)? Seems to me that if hours played are a greater concern than staff inactivity, corruption, back-door scams, and random distribution of child pornography.. I'd say to those people: You ALL have some DEEP personal issues to work on.

So people should stop playing so they aren't harassed?

It's a good improvement because it'd be removing what many now consider a stigma and would be taking an amount of verbal harassment off the game that's significant enough for me to post about.

Harassment over hours is the deterioration of the game socially. Corruption will never ever end, especially on UN, and you can't really stop people from the act of distributing child pornography.

You can stop people from harassing others because of hours by making hours toggle-able or removing them altogether publicly. You can't stop people from massing the child porn. They do end up being banned in a hurry, though.

The solution is as following: If you don't want to be made fun of for having 'oh-so-many-hours', pm a staff and ask them to reset your onlinetime in your account file - there, now you can start with 0 hrs. problem solved. <.<.

I don't know anyone with enough hours on a server to be made fun of that's immature enough to be offended by little kids making fun of their hours.

Personally, I think those people with over 20,000hours on Classic haven't lived a complete, or successful life.
I mean, do the math!

1 year consists of 8,765.81277 hours.
Thus, 8,765.81277 hours x2 = 17531.62554 hours in 2years.

They played for over 2years straight! Wtf!

If I looked at my own hours and saw that I have more than 2years worth of playing time on the same game, I'd look out the window and say
"so wutz dis outside every1 been tlkng bout?"

I think that anyone who logs on this fricken game can be put into the realm of being antisocial no matter how many hours they have.

People who are honestly social in real life dont need to argue that they are. Which is why I consider the people who argue about hours "no-lifers". No sense in arguing about anything pertaining to real life anyways because no side could ever provide proof that they even have a life.

So there. I used to be a graal nerd, I try to limit it now. Also for the fact that im trial...lol

If someone's making fun of you for your hours, the chances are that they're just trying to make themselves feel better about their own problems.
