Why not just use an SVN server and have people use an SVN client like Tortoise for Windows to get the most recent version?

He's set up a website with the clients listed (and last modified times, etc). Setting up any form of SVN is taking it way overboard, lol.

I don't know if anyone have reported this yet, but when you drag the playerlist the screen gets all slurred with Playerlist-images.

and I just noticed (not so important though) but you can't copy and paste a text outside Graal and put it in your Graal chat(TAB)

I've checked it, it's updating fine when adding or removing entries because the size of the control is changing which is automatically updating its content.
Do you change some attribute of the entries dynamically?

Nope, it happens on all guitextlist controls, for example, on the playerlist, if you put your playerlist on the right side of your screen and just walk around on Graal, if someone PMs you it will show a yellow PM icon next to someone random until you hover your mouse over the person which is when it updates and shows the correct name.

same for me. the list doesn't seem to update unless the playerlist is the active window. sometimes it just happens anyway, even if the window is active.

But it's not when adding or removing an item, it's when you get a PM
Will make it so that it's updating on sort()

There is a new version now (5.243):
- Copy&Paste is working
- Drag&Drop into the RC filebrowser is working
- Correctly re-initializes the tile layers when you switch to/from fullscreen
- external GuiTextListCtrl refreshes on sort() (player list)
- fixed head icon on mini-maps
- shows version number when right-clicking->Properties on the exe

Stefan, because all windows are now ingame windows is it possible at all to remove the 20 fps cap in favor of something reasonable like atleast 60?

I'll make a quick video of the "tearing" problem I had before, maybe it will explain it better than words.

It'd be nice for at least GUI's to run at 60fps. It would improve them so much.

What??? I would think 30fps or maybe 40fps would be "something more reasonable"?

How is capping the FPS at 60 not reasonable? Anything above that won't be noticeable and anything below it will be less "smooth". If changing the FPS around isn't possible then atleast keep the option to use the external playerlist window we've got now on v5 and re-add the external PM windows from v2/v4 on the Windows client. :|

I don't think 60, the average physical threshold, is the necessary limit for better performance. Perhaps 30fps? I'd rather see a 10fps increase if it will effect performance of Graal in any way, in comparison to increasing the frame rate 3 fold...

I don't think anyone cares about the actual game running at 60fps(though it would make SOME things smoother, in the end though I don't see it really necessary), but the GUI's trying to emulate OS counterparts at 20fps is horrible and just makes them seem clumsy and inaccurate.

Wondering if it's planned to make the playerlist dock so I can start complaining now if not.

Ah, I understand now. I was worried they wanted the FPS in-game increased to 60 for some reason beyond necessity.

The problem Stefan often does not understand is that new "features" like docking are great, so long as people (with good sense) have the choice to disable/enable it.

Experimenting with External Windows, noticed that you can't really adjust or access the x, y via script, as well as plenty other things that don't exactly work. I.e: canresize, canmove.

Is this intentional or will support for that be added later.

This one still isn't fixed.
When I drag the playerlist over my window this happens:

and could you add a "warpto" button on the playerlist? (The ones we have on the old playerlist)
I'd really appreciate that because I always use that function.

This problem has already been addressed by Stefan as a Windows problem rather than a Graal problem and could only be fixed by putting the player list in a separate thread but that would be a pain in the arse. This kind of effect only occurs on pre-vista Windows clients since Vista and beyond cache window's image to prevent that effect.

Read through this entire thread so you are up-to-date

If you login to the login 2 server you'll get the updated playerlist which has a warpto button.

Can't they just like copy the external one from the old version, and allow you to choose between scripted(GS2), and external?

He's doing away with all that. It's to make the client more compatible between the platforms, as Windows is currently the only client that still uses coded playerlist and such.

They should, but probably won't. Stefan has avoided discussing it, probably because he knows no one likes the new playerlist compared to the v5 dockable one.

I don't think it's so much for "leveling the playing field" between platforms, or even to make the clients match. It seems to me to be more about getting rid of the Delphi windows with scripted ones that can be modified from the Login server... which seems totally pointless given the removal of so much functionality this brings.

I'd really appreciate that because I always use that function.
Please read the first post about getting the most updated playerlist.

That's not necessarily true. The new playerlist on login 2 isn't really that bad.

It's not better than the external one we currently have on v5 though, imo.

I hate the external playerlist. If all of it was external, it would be fine. But having the list be external, but the PM windows not be external... that's just annoying.

Unless I'm missing something, it doesn't dock on the side of the screen, which makes it an unbearable downgrade for those who used the feature.
