720 x 480 should be the fixed res for graal

but if you want a bigger res it should kinda just resize it so the pixels gets bigger instead of showing more of the map.

Agreed. And Crono, while I might believe that Graal itself isn't a game, the servers hosted by Graal obviously operate as games

There are quite a few times I wish I could limit the player's resolution somehow as being able to view two levels away is sometimes a disadvantage from a development point of view. Being a 2D game, non-fixed resolution can sometimes be like everyone in a 3D game always having sniper abilities. You know?

Turn it into a windows theme package (or as much of it as you can) and see how it goes. It would need to be in one of those packages for all the dynamic elements (no static please).

And if there was one, the maximum resolution should be 1024x1024.

holy ****, thats almost twice as big as mine, im still using a 1024*768. had a 1280*1024. but it broke, now getting money for a new one.

Looks *MUCH* better. I was thinking just the other day how ridiculous the login is with the silly animations, etc.

I've offered a few times, and suggested it even more - we desperately need a new login, even if the current is entirely function...

it's fugly.

It looks preety nice. "Very Graalian" as Bell sed, although that might change the view of other servers such as Zone... Era etc that dont have anything to do with that theme.

The bottom bar can be better

haha, thats how it looked when my bluegui got deleted ! it does look nicer, although the bluegui is cool because it matches with many inside graal windows soo.... :P

The current login theme (toon.wba) doesn't represent graal nor any of the graal servers. I'd much rather have a theme that represents Classic than the toon theme.

It's from the time when there was a small revitalization - when Robert was actively working, and not actively scamming Cyberjoueurs. GK was a high priority back then, so it has a few GK elements (the person, the monsters, the style of Graal logo).

I don't think we need to emphasize too much on eyecandy at this point, so long as we can get rid of that nasty-bad login screen as it currently is.

I dunno man, with the amount of graphical talent you're supposed to have as an ex GGT and GK staff I'd have figured you'd try something by now.

I agree with removing the monsters and such, but I've grown to like the window. It seems not to fit in with the buttons, etc.

Ultimately, we need a nice green theme. It seems the only part of Graal that still looks reminiscent of Graal is the forums.

To be honest, my initial suggestion was an apple-inspired login screen which was very simplistic in its nature, although very user-friendly.

I guess my main area of interest is that it's kept as simple as possible (K.I.S.S) while being as user-conscious as possible.

We can start by choosing a nice wba gui style for Graal (can be even green) and then improve it. In the next version we can probably use some gui style by default, it is supporting dynamic switch between gui styles and using several gui styles at once.

I think we should try to move away from using a gui style and window. Would be nice to have a nice background and a simple login screen, without all the cheesy animations. I think this over reliance on GUI windows for interfaces on Graal is making things look worse. Every server uses GUIs for everything now, even when it could probably just use a single background image or something that looks better. I'm not saying don't use GUI controls, but they don't have to look like a window when it's not going to function like a window. Nobody is ever going to need to resize the login window, minimize it, move it... so why does it need all those functions that a window is specifically made for? In fact, why would it need to be a window? I don't think it does.

I'm thinking; Go back to Graal v2 login window and colors. That's simple and nice.
