I like the idea a lot. I might actually implement it, since events are my favorite thing to script.

I do have a question, though. What would the players do to repair the gates?

i'd love to see it in action - got to get the timings right so the game play isn't too long or too short. as for the gates, i was thinking some type of gani where the players stunned with a hammer knocking at the gate and the wood would slowly go up until it's finished. as for what the player's input would be, it can go a couple ways: just press and hold a button, press a button multiple times in a row (which i find to be annoying), or maybe they have to press a string of buttons with the right combination. it also depends if you use the resources from out of the event to repair, because then the combination could be the different resources being used at the right time. whatever it is, it just has to make the player(s) repairing the gate vulnerable enough that it is a hassle to get the gate back up - losing a gate should be a big loss, especially the inside gate since the target becomes vulnerable

look at my sig it will explain it all.
i'm unsure what you mean about "now" as i've always cared about the guilds i've been in, even though i may not be in them anymore. i care about families, specifically Bloodvayne much more than i care about guilds, but in general the most fun i've had on graal (and i think this can be said for a lot of players) was when i was in a guild and we had a rival to compete with, and families are in the same boat. the reason why i started sparring was to get into a good guild. for example, when i was in (Gryphons) on doomsday, we had an epic rivalry with (Criminals) and we warred constantly with PKing and sparring and talking **** to one another. it was great, and our battles would affect the whole server, kingdoms and all. now-a-days where guild's aren't as stable or "meaningful" and there is a lack of emphasis on guilds, everyone says "graal is dead, game sucks"

see the correlation? one of the huge driving factors to graal was the guilds - so we bring back more support and events for guilds, people want to win said events and gain more support, guilds become more skillful and larger due to more newbies wanting to get good; then more rivalries come about like back in the old days - suddenly people will want to play graal again; at least for the guild wars

my question would be, why don't you care about guilds now? in fact, i'm pretty sure i already know the answer
