if I remember correctly, you weren't even on the staff team when his statue was put up, yet you're going on about how it was never supposed to be permanent. big bad dev admin Chris Vimes after 2 weeks of being staff on Era decides EC only deserves a statue for 2 months. I totally forgot who I was dealing with here!

point being, the statue wasn't harming anybody. was there really a reason to remove it? you honestly think that the statue was there too long and needed to be deleted? it wasn't in the way, didn't really bother anyone (if it did I don't see why..) it was a nice little memorial for EC who was a great person and a great player/staff member. you went out of your way to remove it to replace it with Squirt with an afro when you could of placed that BotB NPC anywhere else at unstick me. quite sad honestly.

ontopic: I think Monty's band seems promising. I hope he wins.

Of course it doesnt hurt anybody Frankie, but the fact that you have the statue of a player in the game looks unproffesional.

I really dont want Era to become a mausoleum

a statue placed in front of a building is unprofessional? there are plenty of statues of people in cities all around this world. how is that unprofessional?

have you been in the ET house? they have statues of past ET admins FFS. they don't even have statues for past managers. ET admins clearly are more important though.

also, I'm not sure what instrument I should play in BotB

EC had a huge impact on Era.

Remembering the life of a person who meant a great deal to a large majority of the servers is unprofessional? First of all, you can have a soul and be professional.
Secondly, let me get this straight:
A statue/sculpture (a form of fine arts that's been recognized and included in many professional works throughout history) memorial of a deceased player isn't professional.

But a ridiculous, afro-wearing bloke playing a triangle is professional?

And for the record, since when the hell has Graal ever been professional?

Do you think staff teams built entirely from the PLAYER-base is professional?
Graphics of all styles, levels of quality, and perspectives is professional?

Using archaic methods such as staff blocks instead of automated server messages (if it was important, just ping it everytime someone logs in?) is professional?

Staff players wandering around unstick me showing off a variety of spawned/unavailable/in progress weapons/instruments/etc. is professional?

Useless mass messages from staff members pertaining to inside jokes that happen on RC chat is professional? (That's not happening so much anymore, thank god. I've only seen it once or twice in quite some time)

The list could go on and on. Bottom line: Even if you disagree with my view of professional, don't try to undermine the value of a lost life by acting as if a memorial is some kind of petty eyesore or annoyance.

What, do you want to get rid of graveyards in real life, too? They're wasting prime real estate space. How unprofessional.

I'm really excited to play the piano at battle of the bands. werty werty ytr ytr werty

then don't propose an argument based on being unprofessional on a game if you're just going to counter it with "it's just a game."

this just in, I might be playing the drums in the event. my friends helped me decide

First it's "GUYS ACT PROFESSIONAL"

now it's

"LIGHTEN UP ITS JUST A GAME"

Which is it?

I wish everyone the greatest amount of luck in the virtual instrument contest dubbed "Battle of the 'Bands'". :]

You remember incorrectly, I'd been on the staff team for at least a month at that point.

No, it wasn't harming anybody, but why leave it there?

I did not remove it so I'd have a place to put the Battle of the Bands signup. It had already been removed; it wasn't even myself who removed it to be honest. It simply disappeared when I updated the GMAP as it should have, and I happened to place the Battle of the Bands NPC there.

I didn't say it wasn't professional, so I guess you're talking to Nataxo, but the statue still exists elsewhere. I don't see any reason to leave it at unstick for eternity.

Again, I didn't say that, but it's somewhat of a fun joke. The only reason people don't like it, in my opinion, is because it "replaced" the EC memorial.

Now you're just being ridiculous.

Those who would say era is not a PK-Based server obviously haven't played Era or no nothing about it. Doesn't take much analysis to conclude that,
and not if the Instrumental is given more importance than the PK-Aspect.

My opinion, if you all want to play instrument, build a server for it. Don't re-focus an already an established server.

EC died, I didn't like the fella. Rest in peace, making a controversy of whether or not he receives a statue is idiotic. He made no more of an impact on era than $Swifty G$, even if he did. Chrisz, Zorg and etc didn't get a statue, why should he? No one should get rewarded for dying, its a natual part of life. He's gone, let him go, nothing controversial should happen over him. Regardless of what, he's not here... nor does it affect him.

Battle of the Bands thing (ew)

The411 is on a distinguished road
My input: Put EC's statue back after Battle of the Bands.

If you have doubts, run a vote on Era to see whether or not if EC should keep his statue at unstick me, or in a dark GP level.

This is a playerworld if I do remember correctly. The staff are working for the enjoyment/satisfaction of players, so I propose you run a poll/vote.

The staff are working for our own satisfaction. We don't get paid for our work, even with in-game items. But you're right, though, it is about making players happy.

But no, just because the entire server wants something does not mean it should be added back.

Really? You're going to tell me that not one member of the staff team has any spawned items whatsoever?

.....

...really?

The current staff team does not spawn items that are used to my knowledge, no.

I've explained my reasoning to you. Enough about the statue though, this thread is about the contest.
