You're making sparring too complicated. If you won, you'll know you won because the other guy would be dead. No need to start adding useless things like messages saying "YOU WON" or a victory dance.

Victory animations are used to a great effect in many games because they are cute and encouraging. You'll be pushed to find a Final Fantasy game, or even a Zelda game that doesn't animate their characters once they've achieved something. That kind of animation is used to heighten that sense of achievement you get when you've overcome something, and it actually works too. I'm not talking about some super gani effect of the player spinning their sword above their head and putting it on their back. I'm just requesting a simple gani of your player jumping up and down for 1.5 seconds and that is really not making anything complicated, just encouraging people. Text is too much though.
