i personally think hotkeys should be eradicated fully, i hate fighting some1 who keeps swiching from shotgun to storm rifle to mortar to sniper. x.x

because 1st: we have to buy it with gelats (for most of people)

as I wasnt gold I just had to press Q and s/d, that was all, learn to play like trial, jetpack is lame. Just lame as much as want, if youre near death, escape over wall, heal, maybe sniper as next, or just fly back and kill him finally...
if you cant hotkey jetpack, you need to do that I made before was gold with hotkeys, but if you also disable hotkey for medic, it would be better too, so you first have to switch to jetpack, then to meds, and back, so the other would have eneugh time to think what to do.

Remove jetpack and healing items. Weapons are all that we need to have hotkeyed. The other two (jetpacks and healing items) make it too easy to escape death.

because it is still awfully irritating for people to keep switching through big weapons every few seconds. the 2h weapon system was there so people couldnt do that, but no one seems to be taking it into account.

All of you people saying "BUT WE HAVE BUYED JETPACK WITH GELATS" are being stupid.

You buy the jetpack to increase your mobility, which is what is does, you don't require hotkeys for that. Selecting the jetpack manually isn't too long to do when you want to go capture some bases or something, but it is too long for people who want to run away from a fight and go and heal. Gelats aren't there to provide you with some huge advantage over the other players, they are there for either aesthetics or something unique (Such as increased mobility which comes from buying a jetpack).

Personally I think that all hotkeys should be removed, they are a stupid idea and lead to a lack of creative thinking when you are caught in a tight spot. If you are trapped you just hit a button, pull out your assault pistols and lay waste to everyone in sight, it's stupid and makes the game far too easy.

It's hard to explain how good the old Zone was unless you were actually there. But you noobies have to trust us on this one, it was incredible fun. Notice how all the 'oldbies' agree with each other? Anyone who played back during that time cannot really find fault with how things were compared to todays standards. The main difference between then and now was that on today's Zone, people are focussed on getting tons of kills to look cool in front of their friends. This is probably because people have gone power mad with their unbalanced weapons.

However, during the old Zone everyone was focussed on having a good time. We would make up fun games (E.g. Me and RealDDC would try to get on the gravitron list, purely because it was the worst weapon in the game. We used crossbows to poison people and then ganged up on them with our gravitrons), piss our friends off just to see their reactions (Steal someone's huge bounty by PMing them, telling them that you sent them a PM, and then piping them. The PM would usually say "By the time you read this I will have taken your bounty"), just hang around at base 4 and do tons of guild-related stuff. We would have spars there to see if someone was talented enough to join a particular guild. Different guilds had different reputations and you felt honoured to be a part of them. The two key guilds were 'Hayashi' and 'Lost Souls'. Of course, I joined Hayashi because I know the superior guild when I see one.

I can explain:
All was better as it was before, we trials used our g18 and smg and often you killed us, but sometime we killed you.
The b1 fights was a real good way to get exp for trials. We could go inside HQ, warp there and could kill someone if we were lucky and we were quicker as rockets of rocket launcher.
and if we raided b1 and were good eneugh to get close to the base without to die, we could put out our smg/g18 and kill 1-3people staying on base.
That was fun, and I(trial) had lots more respect of the elites/generals
as they do now.

The most fun I ever had on Zone was just getting into pointless arguments. Due to some crossfire you'd kill a friend, he'd scream at you and hunt you for a couple hours. He'd kill you once and you'd go back at him.

This would go on for a couple hours and then you just went:

"Uh why was I mad at you again?"
"Donno."

Then, while you're chatting, Tenchry flies in with a jetpack and pipes you both.

that's not the old zone, in the old zone, when i was there, i even used to have 100 hp as a trial, had all weapons and classes, now that won't be coming back, but that was old zone.

Lol. Sorry to burst your bubble, but Gelats ARE there to give people with beefy wallets overpowered weaponry and abilities over those who don't, as long as the "gelat noobs" supply Stefan and Uni-...Err, the Game, with a steady supply of funds.

If your opinion is that they "alter" gameplay positively to allow players to "explore" new ways of playing, that's fine by me, but to be blunt, it's just a nice, glucosed lathered way of exchanging your money for pixels.

i don't really mind people buying assaultpistols to be better. I bought them too, only once, and i like apps just as well. And people who have items like photon. can be countered by irpulsar. scifi-assault can be countered by apprices and appriper, it all depends on skill.

You misunderstand me, what I'm saying is that Gelats shouldn't be a quick access path to becoming better than everyone else. This entire idea of using gelats was just forced onto Zone with barely any thought.

Stefan should have taken the time to decide what kind of things he could provide players with for an extra bit of cash. You could have armour which would be added to your character that wouldn't go and add tons of extra Hitpoints, but gives you immunity to fire and ice.
That's just one example of how gelats can be used to expand the gameplay which I took off the top of my head.

If you bought the armour, great! You would be immune to ice and/or fire and you would look like a total badass too. Fire and ice are used not so much that you would become invincible, but they aren't used so little that buying the armour isn't worth it.

Some more examples would be a little anti-emp thing which would passively make any vehicle you are in immune to becoming disabled by a beam, a helmet that reduces damage caused by explosions or even something to help increase your movement speed slightly when flying in a jetpack.

You could then have bundles to increase revenue for your products. For example, what would be the point in buying an item to increase your jetpack's mobility speed if you didn't have a jetpack? There wouldn't be one, so the staff could bundle the jetpack and the jetpack speed increaser together. The player would then receive a small discount for buying two things together, it would be a sort of way to tell the "Thanks for buying our products"!

You see? I've typed for a couple of minutes and come up with a better starting plan for gelats than what was actually used.

but sometimes it is a good run.
when you have for exemple 3 mechs against you on Zone wars, or about 5 or 6 teamers against you... that is not very fair... that's why jetpack is usefull in Hotkeys!
