No its not. Such a system would automatically inform you of problems, but I suspect you're either too lazy or don't have the ability to have one made.

If I wanted to make a true economy I would try going with having a fixed total value of all items in existence on the server. This means that items can't just come out of thin-air or it will disrupt the economy, so places like mines would start out with a certain amount of ores such as 500,000 units of Iron, and when it runs out that's it, the mine is dried up. This means that all items would have to be constructed from their components and not whisked into existence by script.
