Few other notes though. People have houses that they haven't used or even logged on to go into. Those are also kinda pointless if you ask me. Staff wise, I think that Era would be better off with active staff members that could actually do something. Example, the gang admin. Nuada is never on, and when he is, it's for like two minutes and then he gets off. I'm seeing some graphic changes in weapons I guess though. I haven't really seen much change in levels. New events are coming out pretty good. GJSALES

Yes but its broken.
I agree it got fun..
But what i liked is when there where crazy gang raids where we lame, use gases, P4 with killing Fires... good old days i guesse..
And the PC was way highter and people where better

Here's an idea from Sam (Pelikano)

"It makes Era way better and is very easy to script. I think that the damage of the guns are boring. I mean one does 20, the other one 15, 13 and so on.
I think we should change that, example AK47: The Ak47 does 20dmg, I think we should make that every hit is random. From 18-22 dmg. So everytime you hit somebody with an Ak47, it shouldn't just do 20 dmg, but once it does 19, once 22, once 18 and so on (a random system must be scripted)"

Heres another idea: No Status Health.

Basically, only a health bar. Don't show how much HP they have, and it will keep the PKer guessing/going.

Don't remove the display of your own HP. It's been like that all the time now, why would you change that?

I think it was more aimed for others, and not yourself. (As in, you can't see how much health your target/opponent have)

Ugh. I told some staff (I think it was Snake) about that when he made the body damage system. He made some script where he could detect what part of the body the bullet hit; head/body/foot. That idea was rejected.

Dammit people. Demisis came up with this idea waaay back but no one seemed to notice it. You guys never listen.

Would be cool, If there really was a script which changes DMG. (Ill use a 20 HP Gun as example) If you get hit on your head you get 23 Damage, If u get hit on your belt you get 20 Damage, And if u get hit on your Legs/Foot you get hit 17 Damage.

Would give a realistic effect, Because if u get hit in your head in real life you are weaker then when u get hit in your leg ;o

This is not real life though. On top of that, it's a 2D game. And it wouldnt depend on you if you would hit the head, the torso or the legs.

Enough with this "th1s is n0t reel l1fe guyz" bull. The more real it is, the better the game play is. Era has so much potential but every time someone suggest something that's based off the real world it gets shot down cause it's too "real".

Pretty much like when someone suggested a system where businesses have to order supplies for their stocks from factories, which would be controlled by other players, in order to sell their products. Ideas like that could really add some spunk into Era instead of the same old guns&ammo shops.

**But I do agree with the whole head/body/foot detection flaw. You can't really base it off that seeing that 90 percent of the guns on Era don't require an "aim" skill because of the cheap spread effect on the guns. Last I heard, the straighter the gun shoots, the more accurate the gun is. On Era, the less accurate the gun is, the better it is.

There are those certain things you can deny with the "Era is not real life" argument though. Just like the head/torso/legs bullet thing. 2D is probably the biggest point. Second point are the projectiles, they dont travel fast enough. If they would it would destroy gameplay, because its 3D. And so on.

hitboxes do not work on 2d games.
I don't care what you say, I know it's possible to be scripted, but it would be extremely buggy. after 20 mins of playing with it you'd all realize how dumb it is.

We need money sinks--
Sidney started working on a guiFlash script which will make it possible to play .swfs on Era. This opens up the possibilty of an Era movie theatre, and even finishing that arcarde that's on the beach. These would be great ways to draw money out of the economy (which is always good).

Just more fun things to do that people can waste money on.

I know I would if it was improved a little.
radio stations should be able to create long play lists.
and they should be able to make money somehow, so they'd be more dedicated.
Most of all it needs to be fixed so it doesn't shut down every 2 seconds.

On a side note.
Bring the newspaper business back.
Make it player owned.
Make a printing factory/production line, where the newspapers are made.
Make newspaper vending machines where players can buy the newspapers.
Make it easy for employees to write up a newspaper page and have it loaded on to era somehow.

so I found the link to the gmap generator I was looking for. I want to start making getting the gmap levels up (they will all be blank though) so I want to finalize what we're going to do with the map.

basically, I want to cut off a lot of empty space.

see the map lower left corner? that's what I want to make the main island.

under the main map will be a big ocean. hopefully boats will be introduced. we want to add a little fishing town and include fishing somewhere in the ocean. maybe add quests there, boat race event, etc.

then under the ocean map, have another gmap for southridge.

southridge will be accessible by train/boat/underground road passage for cars.

I'm just going to throw this out there, but is it possible to make house boats were as your fishing you could store the fish in your boat... Maybe have some sailboats, jet boats and stuff like that

Another thing will Motor bikes will be completed by then, and also Do you think Helicopters could be released for everyone?

we're in high need of graphics for these boats. I want them to look really nice

if we get really good graphics for 3 different kinds of boats, I will definitely make sure that more than 1 type will be sold.

motorbike i'm unsure of.

because the motorbikes can't run on a 360 degree script like the cars do because we only have 4 directions.. it would be really weird. they would be like skateboards except faster. idk.

people also want all these vehicles, but where to put them?? I guess we would have to make it so you don't really park your vehicles.

you don't normally see everyone with helicopters these days. I think it would be logical to not release helicopters to every player.

motorbikes aren't done. it was probably a staff setting their gani to it.

also, that boat is really ugly. i wouldnt want to use it.

I'm not very good at gfxing but look up Formula Boats, Donzi, Fountain, for speed boats, and for like fishing boats if you want something fancy look up Royal Denship, I don't do much with houseboats but that shouldn't be to hard and if anyone wants to get serious you could try Trinity Yachts, or Hatteras, or Silverton they all should have images on there home page, also look up Riva or Bertrum to be linked to a large boat bulider companies home page for a large amount of boat ideas.
