Vesporia: Testers

Vesporia is the one and only true attempt at a Sands of Glory 'revival'.

Once a highly controversial server/topic, the underlying principles of Sands of Glory are what made is such an inspiring server. See this article in the Graal Bible for information on Sands of Glory.

Choose a preferred team, vote on the battleground, and fight against the other team. Points are received for each kill, which you can buy guns and other items with to aid you in your fight.

For information and screenshots relating to Vesporia, please see our blog.

Vesporia is currently looking for testers. I have also posted about this in our blog, but it is apparent that not many people read the blog, and I wanted to let everyone know.

If everything goes smooth, we will be needing testers next Wednesday, July 30th to help test out the battleground and gun systems. Please note that this time is not definite and may change or be extended if problems occur.

If you are interested in helping us test out the battleground system, make sure you are signed up for the our guild or you will not be allowed to participate (I'll probably accept people who apply on that day in though

). You may sign up here.

While my purpose for creating this thread is to inform about the need for testers, feel free to discuss the server in general.

Darky (account: Darkyoshi12345) created many of the graphics which were used, including large portions of the tileset.

What are you referring to? Yes, Darky created much of the tileset.

I wasn't part of the Vesporia team, I was part fo the SoG team, and the SoG article is what I was referring too. o_O

I want to have no part in Vesporia and would rather that if any of the graphics I made are on it, have them be removed (But I don't care ~.~; ). The last time I saw and spoke with Jave he was a complete ******* to me. o_O...

Well, I can assure you they won't be removed ... though eventually they may be remade.

The concept and name were conceived by me and as I worked a lot with Jave helping him manage and dev work. I was completely left out so don't feel bad :P

Long time no see <3

No, I wrote this article. First two lines or so are from the server message he wrote, though.

Jave just left for three days, but when he gets back I can talk to him.

I would of been either be under the name fc (this account) or Scene. Not really sure which one I was rocking around SoG time. I worked with Jave from back in Seilius (or San'doria as the original name of the rpg server we were working on before the idea of SoG became brought up).

Its not that inspiring to go around and shoot people.

:o ALSO, sog died when they started to make it look like era. Adding a huge "Areia" city, and killing the battleground feeling.

SoG was like counterstrike, though with buyable weapons from osl.

Yes, we've recognized what went wrong with Sands of Glory. Aeria, and the new form of currency Areians contributed.

This time around we're sticking to the roots of what made Sands of Glory fun.

Unless something happens overnight, we will be allowing testers tomorrow. We are completely ready, so really the only thing that could happen is myself or Jave get murdered in our sleep

If that happens
it must be an ATTEMPTED murder. You wake up and stop time right before the dagger hits you. You then go over to your Mac computer, log into Vesporia and script a really powerful gun. Then you pull it out of your computer (OH EM GEE CHRIS R A GENIE!) and time starts again and the dagger hits your bed and you go "Merry Vesporian testing!" and shoot the **** out of him.

Only then will my world be complete.

The testing was a huge success. We received great comments and suggestions.

The release date will hopefully be soon, my guess is this weekend.

If anyone was here for testing, please tell me what you thought!

I thought it was pretty fun, was hard to see the bullets at times and a start up guide would be nice so I don't have to yell to you to figure out the commands. Wil Soul is your PR, which right there makes me not want to play your sever, as he has a nasty history on Era and isn't very good with people for that matter. Other than that, it looked pretty good, I liked the map choosing and such. Good luck!

There WAS a starting guide, directly to the left there was a door that said "Information".

Talk to Jave, I didn't hire Wil, he did.

Well, time for my little small review or w/e to call it.

Confusing

Other from that, was quite cool (was hard to see who I was on team with tho, as you had to go into options).

I hope you adda simple tutorial for players who just want to jump into it, like some rooms showing you how to shoot, equip and use the interface.

Also, fix the thing taking focus

I give Sand of Glory, at it's current state as of now, 3.5/5.

Mm, this server seems far to repetitive, I was bored after 15 minutes. With the exception of a few wide-open maps, you basically just find a narrow path with one entrace and stand there spamming the fire key.

Mm, theres some good ideas to it, like the switching of the battlefields and battle types.

Most people know it because it stole a few things. Controversial, Yes. Inspiring, No.

Also, about the comment on "repetitive". We're adding some new stuff. Probably the biggest thing will be Squads. You can puchase (I think?) a squad, challenge other squads to battlegrounds, spars, etc.

Its really actually fun. Its way better than Era, as in it is more creative and much more action filled cuz of the like 4-4 or so gmaps that you run directly at your enemy. You all should try it because this is one of the best servers around right now.
