Staff Massing

Ok so I'm on classic, playercount 3, and I'm massing with my friends Yump and Shimmy. Then Thor comes on and says
"You cant mass, its a rule that you cant mass, so dont mass, cause its a rule."
Im like "Dude wtf why. No ones on and people that have their masses blocked dont get masses from GC's off tag."
but he says "no rule."

The point of all this is, I am a Game Coordinator, yet off tag I can't mass.
When you think about it, Why not?
The rule was created because people that have their masses blocked didn't want to get a bunch of non-staff related masses from staff. That makes sense.
But I've tested it with a few people, and I came to the conclsion that off-tag game coordinator masses arent received by people with masses blocked.
So the whole rule is stupid, for at least Game Coordinators. And the rule should be changed because this is kind of like a punishment for being a GC.

i have tested this with oni and it is true maybe one of the staff admins would like to try this themselves so we can change this rule.

We took the GC's out of the admin list for that reason a while back. Massing off tag should be okay...

There's nothing worse then staff on Zodiac massing about buying/selling items while on staff tag.

If what HR says is true then I suppose it would be ok for GCs although you should check with Bell before incase they still don't want you to or if there's another reason.

It is really annoying that staff can avoid the "don't receive mass messages" even off-tag.

It would be much better to lock it to on-tag (staffguilds in server-options) and RC

I hate getting masses of buying/selling from staff when I have masses disabled.

I don't have a problem with GC's massing off tag. I'll double check with Storm though to make sure he doesn't care.

This is how it works:
If you arent on the staff string in the server options, you can mass off staff tag and it is treated as a normal players mass, and gets blocked by people who have them off.

None of the GCs or FAQs except the admins or developers are on the staff string in the server options.

So if you're a GC or FAQ that isnt an admin/dev, it shouldnt matter if you mass of tag or not, on tag is a different story since the tag allows you to mass past people who block masses.

Even if the staff override is gone it is still against the rules for staff to mass on Classic. So until the Storm amends the rules and says staff can once again mass message... it is against the rules for Game Coordinators to do so.

Also, In my opinion staff should always maintain a professional veneer on and off tag, therefore mass messaging, since it's usually always filled with filth, is out of the question.

The previous rules about staff massing were simply due to the fact that staff masses go to players even if they have masses blocked. Those rules, however, were rewritten several months ago. The current rule set says nothing explicit about staff massing either on or off tag. They do however say to use common sense when judging what you can or cannot do.

If being removed from the admin list on RC means the non-blocking masses only work on tag, then of course they are allowed to mass freely off tag. The only exception to this is that staff should be seen to set a good example for players to follow, both on and off tag, so should be extra careful about the content of their messages. I'd say that behaving yourself over masses is pretty obvious though.
