Actually if you look at the statistics from the votes, Bush never had a majority. In 2000 he lost the popular vote, becoming President through the Electoral College. This outraged many citizens. In 2004 Bush received a majority by .7% while their being several rumors about missing ballot boxes. This outraged more citizens. I know this was not a thread about the politics of the United States but it is generally not a good idea to make such statements about a country that has citizens perfectly willing to fight you to the death. So lets be friends.
Edit: Stephen's post reminded me of something, I have been in the German program for three years now. I have met Germans who didn't even know the Chancellor's name.
