The problem isn't the monsters, it's your perspective.
If a player is able to charm monsters and kill you with them, they're either more powerful than you or you're not there to defend yourself. If they're more powerful than you... well them's the breaks; toughen up.
If you're AFK and they pwn you... well that sounds like a lot of fun to me, so I see nothing wrong with it. Idle somewheres else, if you don't like being lamed.

I hate this - this is
counter-think.
Instead of enjoying a aspect of gaming -
competition - you're complaining it, and trying to have it taken away or numbed. You realize the game's mechanic's are mainly those to compete? Either between NPCs or, when you're at a higher, between players.
This sort of retardation of the system has lead to a economical fist-truck, and the lack of motivation for players to remain. Where previously players were competing to preform... actively joining kingdoms and trying to convince more powerful players to help them, now they're wandering aimlessly, with no real goal "Well Hell, I just got handed some of the best gear in the game, and all I can do now is level for a few months until... what? Until I can have nothing else to do?"
The problem here isn't something MISSING. This retardation has damaged the game's mechanics, turning off or simply disinteresting players. Now the only ones that remain are either there to experience what was once believed to be good, or those who played when it was good. When was it good? Before this carebear germankr3w came along and decided "We must fix the economy!", "We must make this more fair!".
Once you start seeing it from the right perspective is when you can start to see all these stupid bandaids e-tards have cried for, and equally e-tarded admins have added.
