In some ways they're worse.
For one, they throw off the playercount. If a bunch of people are online idling, staff can say "well, we have this many players, so GK can't be that bad," but if the idlers would stop idling and we have 0 players on for a good portion of the day, they have to admit "no one is playing GK..."
