FAQ = good for GK. One is that many newbs will come on and not know what to do while those cynical bastards (thank you people on the forums for the word cynical :o) on GK make them look like idiots. And these staff better not be like the GPs from before where they went on for about 10 minutes and went off for the day.

The Graal Remote Control doesn't increase the amount of hours displayed on your account. The fact of the matter is, Ravenblade, you're just contradicting your own thread. Someone could stay on RC for days, and when they log on player the next day, there hours would not have increased. The only downfall of having FAQs with RC is... NOTHING! There is nothing wrong with it. What's going to happen? There's one extra player on the playerlist?! Oh no! When new players log on to GK, the first thing they look for is showadmins and RCs, as well as people on staff tag. With the point that FAQs are players too, they would not ALWAYS be able to be on tag, therefore they could be on RC as 'Name (FAQ)' or so. The point is, GK needs knowledgeable staff who know what they're doing and can help out with the players more than just "where is the east dungeon house?" FAQs should be able to answer basic questions about computer help, video resources for Graal in general, among another wide array of typical tech support related questions. GK is a 'professional' server for Graal, because it's gold. GK needs FAQs who are able to represent GK professionally and answer questions with a true and quick response.

This isn't about hours. It's about the inevitable (though very minor and of little relevance) problem of someone idling on RC (probably because they forgot to disconnect) with their tag on and as a result players sending questions to them that don't get answered.

I just read through these posts and I can not find Bjorn say that we are getting a FAQ team, atleast not the words. I don't care about what rights they have, that can be dealt with later. I just want a simple yes or no.

Please don't share your twisted, obliquely impaired thoughts on one of the worse recommendations of all time. I would DIE if Ravenblade became manager. That's quite a false statement as well, many people "COMMIT" to the server, including myself, Bjorn, among many of the staff on debug.

You need more than to just be commited to the server to be a manager, like Tig said many people are commited to the server but not many of them would be a good manager.

@Tig: When was the last time you were on debug doing any work? Last I checked you were supposed to be doing some potion thing but stopped doing it because Bjorn wouldn't give you certain rights.

Stopped doing it because I didn't know HOW to do it without the rights I asked for, I didn't want to bother Bjorn with asking, so I just stopped working on it. See, Ravenblade, I'm not trusted on debug because I'm not stupid, stupid people on GK some how gain respect of the community and get all of these fancy positions and they don't even know what the hell they're doing. Kind of sad really... I'd really like to know why, whether or not I'll ever know is questionable.

Better don't read just through the posts, read them exactly and you will find more than one post even in this and the other thread confirming it. But there are people who need to open a secound thread for a very similar topic. In one thread you would have found it more easy.

However, poor little Tig doesn't know how to script the function of the object in the level because I don't know what functions are involved since I have almost no knowledge with scripting with the mudlib.

I told you just to script it as normal npc and I include it and do the rest. You never did it so I couldn't add an arch and include it into some object that can be used.

How about actually do a REAL, unbiased FAQ application, with the requirement of at least 1000 hours, and a long history on GK. This means, NO "oh, but I don't like her, so she can't be hired" and no "Yeah, but I want to hire Sango_ku, instead"

Long history meaning you have played GK for way over 1 year and 1000 hours is about right.

What does hours have to do with the player's ability to do his or her job?

@Crono, I played val and GK, I did switch for a while during 2004, but still played GK on and off.

@Xaphan, the longer you play DOESN'T effect the ability you have to do a good job as a FAQ, but doing a good job as a FAQ means being able to answer all questions on the history of GK along with events that have happened in the past, which, if you weren't around for... would remain unanswered.
