I think that the classic servers should get a part in a forum as a sub-forum, really. They should add the forum "Public Playerworlds" or something so players have even more of a reason to get there server hosted/classic...
Something like this was tried once. I don't know if there was a reason for getting rid of all the forums other than "Nobody uses them."
