Layer... (-.-)

Hi,

so could we have/get a way to change between pixel coord or level coord?
its kinda annoying to make a day/night sys with 4 layers to use(the poly has to use layer 3, because 2 would make tree tops being over it, and so they dont get shaded lol)
now, the problem now is having light effects that are OVER this poly without having to use screenx/y() and a timeout and stuff :/

I'm not following you... are you using poly's to script the day/night effect?
Just use seteffect.

No it doesn't? Many have made night effects with it.
seteffect(0,0,0,.75);

The higher the last value, the darker it will be.

seteffect(red,green,blue,darkness);
Just raise the blue(I'd also say the red some for purple) to give it a blue tint.
Trust me, there is no reason to resort to poly's for night effects.
I currently have one using seteffect that fades slowly into a blue darkness at night, then into orange for the morning sunrise before setting back to the normal tint.

What you should do is make a gui with sliders for R,G,B,A, and slide them until you find the effect you want, and have a button that echo's the values.

EDIT: if you're that dedicated to using showpoly, use it on layer4+.
This will show it over everything(including GUI, unless you draw the GUI over the showpoly layer), and will use screen coordinates(0-screenwidth/height) which are in pixels

its kinda impossible, seteffect seems more like putting a fog above the game instead of "dyeing" it

you can see that good at the ears of that bunny

http://i12.tinypic.com/4kvspoz.png bunny ears are still kinda white-ish
http://i12.tinypic.com/6hefzwo.png everything is kinda white-ish
look at the bunny ears here: http://i9.tinypic.com/674b0g2.png
looks much more blue

Ya, but it's on layer 4, and will show over all the other stuff. You just have to put your showpoly color effects.

over all the other stuff, including layer 3 light effects
hm that layer system is damn annoying is there any way to have the tree tops under the day/night layer, the lights over the day/night layer but having the lights under the tree tops? Oo

Nope. Light effects are meant to work with seteffect for stuff like that.

You can use how many layers you want too, all above 4 are drawn on the screen instead of the level.
