@stefan: i disabled bitmap fonts (faster and smoother) and unchecked dpi and then i tried it with disabling visual themes and it doesn't work, crashes when you try to open a PM.

@angel light: oops i forgot to put that i checked visual themes as well. (i'll edit my post)

go to compatibility and run in Windows XP (SP2) mode and check the box for "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" :edit: AND "Disable Visual Theme"

btw my pc specs:

AMD Athlon 64 Processor XP 3500+
2047 MB RAM
32-bit OS (VISTA)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS (with latest nvidia drivers)

graal finally works! yay!

A 64 XP? You mean 64? The XP series stopped at 3200.

Not that it's relevant :P

Finally some progress with Vista. Question for Stefan. Why exactly can't you get Graal running smooth with Vista? No need to use baby Talk I'll understand what you say. Or is it you fixed it justhavent released the version do to other bugs/errors.

Haha, yup, be kinda sad if the Lead Coder of Graal can't make it Vista compatible. I still don't think it be that hard though. Although what do I know. XD

Well I cannot *help* you and cannot him aswell.. I am still a "noobie" at coding other languages which i'm learning right now: C++, Java(Don't ask I felt like doing some more of this), delphi, and a couple other things.. I have alot of free time on my hands and yeah it would be sad if he couldn't fix it but right now I think him fixing graal's little "exploits" like the wall hacking and such should be top prioity. Aswell as the playerworlds being "hacked/hijacked" kehe. ^_~

Yeah, I know he'll fix it one day. I teaching myself Ruby, pointless language to know but interesting none the less. :P There are always going to be manipulators* in Graal. Not much we can truly do but build better defenses.

*Notice I call them Manipulators not hackers. Hackers code for the betterment of the community, Manipulators code for the betterment of themselves.

Well after alot of Vista updates, I've noticed that Graal doesn't crash on me anymore. The only issue now is those animated flowers. :o

Update

Graal did just crash on me. But it's being more stable because I haven't had it crash in weeks for me. I think it was also because I had Graal minimized?

Good news: we made Graal working on Vista 64 bit (will also work on XP 64 bit). So with the next version things will run more smooth

32bit should work fine but I'm guessing if 64bit is fixed, It means Vista is probably fixed in general.

OH and GraalEditor has this black line and you get error when you close it that's it.

to download the packages take your entire Graal folder and put it into the C: \ drive or into a folder that the name has no spaces., I'm guessing the folder path name has "Program Files" in it which there is a space. Also, I have found most fixes for the 32-bit Vista (Other than light gfx screwing up" YOu just need to go to the properties of the files and run it in compatibility mode to fix all of it.

I think everyone is using compatibility mode already. I know for me, I am, and it doesn't fix everything for me.

That stuffed animal with a rubber knife to its throat was deemed to intense for graalonline even though if you join a server you will get cussed out beyond belief.

The funny thing is the same post was posted on NVidia's forums and they found it funny I guess this just shows better quality developers have better sense of humors.

This forum is so annoying, No external links, you post a joke and an admin gos crazy.

The only issues I really have though are random client crashes and the only graphics issues are the animated flower things. But also I've spoken to some other Vista Premium users and they don't have a single issue with Graal. I guess it's different for everyone
