Graal sucks because everyone can be Staff

Yes or no? I think it's true =( and people abusing their rights makes them leave faster, since it gets boring when they have everything ingame...

I think Graal sucks in a slight way because some people like to mass the most absurd and sometimes offensive things.

Corruption on UC worlds and in some cases Hosted worlds is bound to happen but any on Classic worlds should be dealth with harshly. My ideal staff system? Only developers would get RC. Everything from warping to turning boots on will be logged (also how long and in what levels). I generally hate staff tools as they waste the staff members, the servers and other peoples (mass summon?) time.

When I worked on alot of 'back-alley' UC worlds, fools kept creating such stupid weapons. Coupled with 'events', it became near impossible to do any work as you were constantly summoned to crap. Worse when people were /freeze 'ing ya and /kill 'ing ya.

I make a stand against staff weapons.

Yeah, blame it all on the staff weapons, it clearly has nothing to do with the person using them in such ways.

Possible Response From Twinny: But such corruption would not be possible if such weapons did not exist.

My Response To That ^: Such corruption would not be known if the staff that were hired on that server would have been trustworthy and not a bunch of power hungry nimwits that only wanted RC to give themselves stuff and to screw around with the other players.

You don't give a 12 year old a gun. Simple.

To OP:
I don't think that is a problem at all. Infact, I rather like that anyone can become staff.

TO WHOMEVER HIRED HIM! FIRE HIM NOW!

Oh. Hi Zero! Whaa? No, I wasn't talking about you...

On the other side... I agree with Zero: If Graal wasn't for amateurs who have quick access to a reasonable amount of players, people wouldn't be interested in Graal at all. It comes as a mixed blessing.

**** that ****.

I usually support these statements, but god I'd give anything just to play classic Graal again. THAT is why Graal is here. Don't disrespect it.

--

Anyways, I completely agree with you, Elk. Playerworlds, which are fueling Graal's income, might even be killing it.

Whats the problem about newbie servers?
They bring money, and dont annoy too much.

Bad quality classic servers are a bigger problem. There is nothing to do for adult people, who liked the nostalgic feelings they got on classic or other servers, because they maybe played super nintendo rpg's back then.

The quality of Graal and it's staff has degraded very far over the years.

The fact that any player can be staff is part of what makes Graal unique. It also is what continues to keep graal running. For the players, by the players so to speak.

Corruption is only a small starting issue.

Corruption was a problem with Maloria through it's Classic days, though no longer, and Zodiac has some big corruption issues. It's not just a private playerworld or beginning playerworld problem.

And by letting just about anyone be staff Graal's kind of kicking itself in the ass.

But then again all these dev servers are making Graal money so...

Corruption has always been an issue with Graal, and unix never did put a stop to it. I tried, but, eh. That was a long time ago.

Some of my best people honestly were nobodies out of the general population. Good people do show up and work their way up in the ranks and help balance the corruption problems. But many of those people left long ago.

People just need to be a bit more careful and have a bit more accountability.

At worst, now we have cops who don't punish the criminals. When you were chief, the criminals were the cops.

I would say one good thing is that some of us oldbies are now all grown up and have matured a lot of the years. I know I started Graal at 12 and was really immature. Now I'm 19 and have gone through major changes in my life.

Really? I can't imagine how worse it was back then compared to now.

j/k

I feel the same, I remember when I was still a newbie like 5-6 years ago. There was this level on Doomsday where you had to go through this giant spiral to get some money, and it would refresh every time. The thing took so long to do that it wasn't worth doing it over and over again to get more money, so I used questionable materials to
speed up to process. *cough*

Edit: Here we go, someone pointed this out to me awhile ago: http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=39862

dlang is my old account.

I like that anyone can be staff.

Like that, people have the chance to build up their own things if they dont like existing things.

This; They should just work for existing servers - is idiocy - as like 10 servers or so can't fit the taste of every graalian around.

Problem is that there are too many immature kids running around there taking up staffpositions while someone else is out there that applied and is more cappable.
