Graal Benifits

I was reading the post about Graal for the DS. I started to think about it. Then i had a few ideas to expand graal

Graal Benifits

-You recieve a benifit for "recruiting" someone to Graal. They have to buy an account wether it is p2p or gold or vip. In return you recieve something such as you recieve a month of gold for your account.

My Reasoning
  • Graal will become more known
  • More players = More money which means Graal has a better chance of expanding.
  • Players who play now can recieve a month of gold for recruiting a friend.

Trial Accounts!

I know everyone has said their opinions about trial accounts.

Trial Playerworld

A playerworld that is mean't only for trial accounts. It would allow players to have saved attributes and get to really experience Graal instead of going on to a playerworld and not being able to do anything at all. This won't be (obivously) a permant thing. They would get a week or two on this playerworld and then they would become the same as the trials now.

Benifits
  • Allows new players to enjoy Graal in a very peaceful manner. Unlike now where trials get made fun of for not being p2p.

------------------------------

That concludes my ideas

I like, trials would love that

But the month for 'recruiting' could be abused by simply registering new accounts.

i thought about that. Thats why i said the person has to buy a p2p or gold or vip account. Which would cut down a lot of abuse. There will probably have to be another way to stop abusing

I think i found a way to make it to have no abusing for the benifit part - When you go to buy an account you must put the e-mail of your friend who told you about Graal. That person would have to reply to that email to get the benifit

yeah, trials are not what they used to be.

when I was a trial, I logged on Era, I had fun with the free gun and ammo.. but I was still motivated to buy a p2p so I can "save" and get new stuff, etc.

now days, you log on, you can't do anything, and the first thing you want to do is close it out and never play again.

Or.. when you create account.. it says "How did you find Graal" -> "Friend told me" -> Account.

Type account in.

For each upgrade this account does, the other benefits with 1 month. Even if it is the owns person account he puts as referer.. he is still giving graal the same money.

No, they'd create a new trial account about a day or so before it ran out and use that one.

Many people now have more than one email for the different messenger services. Wouldn't work.

Sounds like the Official Newbie World idea.
I'd like Classic to go back to being Newbie World. That was the whole point, lots of quests, newbie-friendly server, keep people occupied until they're addicted to Graal.

I also like the idea of the Referrer bonus. I think that if a Playerworld referred you, they should get a cut...but that's me. And I'm sure somebody will say "DUDE, THEY ALREADY DO", but I haven't seen it.

Why are the players still trying to save the game, instead of the developers?

You retards keep paying for this game, while Stefan and unixmad sit back and take it all, you develop it for them, and you continue to pay.. where are your returns? Benefits?

That's your view on it, I don't see myself being ripped off as I actually play Graal Kingdoms and while I play I am also learning. I guess if you didn't play, and you didn't intend on learning, then you're being ripped off. However, which idiot would pay for something that they don't enjoy?

To expand on that, what...exactly is it that you are learning?

If you are referring to developmental skills, here's my break down:

Graphics: So you can make pixel art, wahey, where else are you gonna use pixel art apart from if you get a job at habbo hotel o.o
This, however, is the best chance you have of a career aspect as you can easily expand on your graphic options.

Scripting: It's GScript, it's useless, apart from this game. May...possibly end up with you wanting to learn a scripting language...although it may not.

Sound: Yeah, ok, you can make nice midi files, I'd say one of the only talented people at sound I know is Rage, he makes good music aswell, however.

Leveling: ...'Nuff said.

Gani: Animation...using a Graal tool. That's about as far as that goes.

Please if I have missed any, tell me so I can continue....

I hope you see my point.

Do you have any idea on how similar GS2 is to other scripting languages? Especially PHP.

Sounds? Ever tried looking in your games folders? I see tons of .wav files.

And by making Graphics and Levels you really improve your sense of details.

Yes, as I said people whom script can move on, graphic designers can move on easy enough.
Levels, I had never really thought of that, although it is a minor detail seeing as, some people are good at leveling, it doesn't mean that they are good at graphics and so it enhances their detailing in a real job.

About the sound, ok, there are tons of .wav files, but most of them are of a low standard to what is expected in a real job now-a-days. It is experience and could possibly be moved on from but I would love to see how someone would aspire to become a sound producer from this game.

You sound as though all music artists on Graal only make MIDIs and low standard .wav files.

Check out the YouTube url in this post; http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=73914

THATS what you'll be hearing on Graal in a near future.

Fair point Ziro, he seems quite talented, but how many sound makers on graal are of that quality? I'm not sure. I mean obviously, I can now see that yes, if they stick at it and learn how to make sound then they can become good.

However, I still stick to my point that I don't believe we learn from Graal, I believe it just provides a basis as of where it makes us think, "Wow, it would be cool if I could do that" and then most developers in a sense go out a google stuff.

I don't believe we learn from Graal, it just sparks the idea of wanting to learn off. I suppose that's how I have came along in graphics. Graal sparked an interest and I ventured out to look at techniques using search engines and different web pages.

I have received help from other Developers on Graal, but I have never learned anything from Graal.

Alright, let me say it like this then..

Around 5 years ago, I changed from playing Graal to developing on Graal. The thing that got my interest first, was scripting. However, I was a complete newb at it, I didn't even understand what "if (timeout)" did when people explained for me. I though of a timeout in like hockey.

But I kept on experimenting.. and experimenting.. and then some more experimenting. Eventually, I was good enough to do most things I wanted too. And nowadays, I can do anything I want too!

Hell, before I started scripting on Graal, I couldn't understand a **** of PHP and stuff either. Now when I want to program in C++ or PHP, I actually understand what I'm doing! All thanks to Graal. So yes, we do learn from it.

I can also truthfully say that I've gotten better at graphics thanks to making levels for a long time. It simply gave me a better sense of details. I haven't made a single SERIOUS level in years though, and I don't think I'll push my luck to see if I still got it in me.

Gscript is one of the easiest scripting languages. It may not be exactly the same as others but it teaches you how to think like a scripter. for example when i took a visual basics class i knew what a lot of it was because of graal. The actually coding isn't the same but that doesn't mean anything. It's the concept my friend that is what makes graal so great. Everything just puts you in the perspective of what it is really like. Yea we are talking about a 2d game that the original graphics were from zelda. But look at what we have come to.

In 2001 the bomy below was made

and look at what we have now

i just think some people don't realize how great graal could be

Do you have any idea on how similar GS2 is to other scripting languages? Especially PHP.
I still get a bit mixed up going from a long binge on gs2 to programming in php.

Lets not forget about gs1 I started to move into php after learning gs1 and it was the worst experince of my young life. So Difficult to transition but some of the basic things i learned while learning gs1 like script styling and stuff stayed with me.
