I'm going to throw this out there and I have no idea how true it is or not but do you think that int effects the level of spells you can cast and the success rate of casting them?

I don't think so but high int will mean you'll be able to cast more times.

We know that luck helps, and we're pretty sure that grace helps. We don't really know whether or not wisdom has its own independent effect.

Charisma and personality are detrimental to each other. They go hand in hand because the more charisma you have the easier it is to charm an animal without using magic spells. You could also have an easier time charming monsters of higher levels than you with more charisma.

Try using one of the perfumes on yourself with a maxed charisma level and then go monster charming, you could make armies in seconds. Of course with higher personality also, you can charm multiple monsters at once in the higher levels of the skill tree.

Charisma is totally important to monster armies.

INT is mostly for learning skills and spells it seems. Though it does not help you directly in combat, it helps give you a wider selection of destructive spells at your disposal; essentially making it easier to kill enemies with.

You can not charm certain monsters like Bigworm with anything less than 20 charisma, and even then it is a difficult task if your personality is below level 15.

No. Int affects how well you learn them. What determines how much you can cast spells is how much SP you can hold.

Int, no. Wis, yes. Luck is a larger factor, though. While testing one day, I tried out a wis +10 amulet while praying over an altar, and would get messages more often when I had it on. However, I also tried the same method using a ring with luck +255, and every message I got while praying over the altar was a success message.

Int does not affect SP. It affects success rates of things that work in the mental category of levelling.

I know this is a few days old but where do you get rings of luck +255?

A good balance between power, speed, and damage mitigation makes a better mage.
Power for more spellpoints.
Speed for well... speed.
Damage mitigation includes AC and resists. No point in using magic if the person you're fighting can blast your health down with his/her magic faster than you can blast their's.
