Depth Charges!
A little ship idea i had.
Course these are not depth charges as you know it, as submarines do not exist on gk. But you get the idea....barrels filled with explosives thrown out of the back of ship.
In a lot of ship battles they are stalemate for a long time.
i.e. nobody is winning or losing and so ship battles go on for ages.
Having a weapon such as explosive barrels which act as a sort of landmine, you can attack persuing ships. Having 3 directions of attack rather than 2, ships can attack more effectively and take them out quicker. Course if you are a good pilot you can avoid these barrels.
In ship battles you could use these barrels well, maybe in a big fleet barricade islands with a wall of explosives.
Barrels can however be taken out with an explosion from their cannons.
Spells would not work as it would be too easy to kill them.
You will get used to killing them with cannons in anyways if you are in ships long enough.
To obtain this weapon is simple..all you need is explosives.
You go in your cargo area and drop cannonballs on a sealed barrel.
More ammo the more damage, of course with a limit to how many it can hold.
You will get a message confirming weapon ready for deployment.
A button will appear near the other ship buttons and you can deploy a barrel.
A quantity near the button will show how many barrels are ready, if you get as many barrels ready as you need before a battle then you will have a big advantage above other ships especially if you fill your barrels with more explosives.
So in order to deploy this weapon you will need to go to cargo room and drop ammo on your barrels,or have a crew member on your ship do it. This is force good teamwork if in a crew. Also with quantity of drops affecting damage of barrel mines it enables personalisation of your ship slightly.
Barrelsdo not stop ships if they hit them. They simply disappear in an explosive cloud and give damage to the ship or ships hitting it. |
