My associate and I have worked on this server idea quite recently and would like to release the base idea to the public to rate its overall design and to hire some halfway competent staff members.
Idea- This idea revolves around a single point. A zone styled game with more of the feel that the majority of graal’s gamplay has.

Setting-The server is based during the post apocalyptic war themed era. This era is one that has faced a war and entend that once you play this you can see and feel the growing tension of the rundown, once magnifecent design. The core points of this server take place around a solar system with several planets. On each of these planets it is planned that several cities exist. The majority of the game will take place in said cities.

Gameplay design points-
-A. Vehicles- we plan to make vehicle system other than the basic vehicles of those seen on Zone
-B. Stats- Stats are planned for Furioso that affect not really your character that much keeping gameplay around the Zone Pking type.
-C. Story-a story will occur in this server unlike zone.
-D. Alliance system- Equivalent to the Zone system

I excel in the areas of small GFXs (like guns, heads, bodies), and some in Ganiing. Dark Rogue (associate) excels in creating levels, ganiing, and scripting. (forgot to put Dark Rogue's name in first post)

and what would make me want to quit playing zone and come there? from what you basically said it sounds like zone with new skins, im not trying to bash your idea thats just what it sounds like.

In theory you are right. The idea of this is a server that is an "RPG version of Zone" using the idea of zone and changing it to not solid pk-ing and include more things that attract and keep players. Zone has two major player types, those who play it to show off in stats or to have fun and those who enjoy it but rapidly become bored with it. The idea involves combining what these groups like to make a more appealing server. This server is not meant to replace Zone, more of a version for everyone.

Someone should start making a list of everyone trying to make a little project like this. When the list is big enough, throw them into a irc channel and make a good server.

We (unlike the majority of people) are planning on taking action not just saying we want this and we want that. Most people just mention it and give up.

But seriously... this sounds like Zone number two. Why are you going to waste all of that time and effort just to make a clone server with some minor changes? Why doesn't anyone come up with a really unique idea and go with that? No Era clones, no Maloria or Zodiac clones... no Zone clones, no Classic clones... Something new and original. Heck even if it's using ideas from other videogames... just as long as it's not an almost exact copy of a current Graal server.

How about a server where the players can grow or shrink 5 times their normal size? How about a server where everyone is an animal? How about a server where everyone can be a superhero. I mean sure all of these ideas have been done in games, but not on Graal.

Personally I wouldn't even mind an Era clone if you made it with better graphics and took focus away from gangs and guns and put the focus into something else (like being a super hero). I think a cool server idea would be to make a modern day server and then script npc characters as the people in the city and all the players could be heroes or villains and save people or kidnap people or rob people or beat up eachother or whatever... Flying around and using ice breath and laser eyes and stuff.

Much more fun than "Era 2" or "Zone Clone Codename: Zlone"

We hope the server does not end up like a Clone of Zone. All we realy need is a good scripter and a tileset to start the server up. There are some more ideas that can and will change the layout of this but are currently up in limbo.

Really i think its a good project, that and its going to be WAY BETTER than zone, no laming im assuming, and think about it, its like zone+other good things, like having a apprices, but it shots fire bullets and bruns enemy, that really sounds like fun to me, i say, its a good idea

Until you actually do that, we will all regard you as nothing more then someone with money to buy a server and a serious lack of management skills.

Nothing against you buddy, it is just the norm for private server managers.

yes, but you don't see that we have the skills, we've planned this through, and as far as I'm concerned, this accually could be better than you think buddy, i just have to help him with more things soon, so no judgeing what you don't see.

why the hell not? people judge god and they havent seen it.

also i think people can base fairly accurate judgements based on the people involved in the development of the server.

Lol...All I have to say is that a high majority of developers on graal today are lame. You cant even come up with your own ideas, All "new" servers HAVE to be based off of another Classic/Gold server. Why does every idea have to be like "Oh it will be like Era but with better guns" or "Oh its gonna be like Maloria with a diff tileset". Start using your brains and come up with something that hasn't been done on graal yet.. like how hard can it be? All Koni had to do was say the word Superhero and he made up a completely unique server idea in probably 15 seconds of thinking. Do you guys seriously like seeing the Graal Community being so limited?

that's the thing though, have u see a gun fire some thing like fire or ice out of it and accually do damage? have you heard of Xtreame Capture the Flag? Has anyone though about a zone with no lamin, no straffing, and no photon? no enchanced pulsers, and no pulsers? we're trying to make an improvement, and all ya'll can think of is a cheap copy that's nothing new? It's not even going to be anything like some, but basicly have the portion of zone eveyone likes. Even I thought at first it was nothing much, but after hearing so much of it from ceserthen, it's one of the best things i've ever heard. Wouldn't YOU like a zone with no laming? everyong does, just ask then, everyone complains about the lamers on zone, well now, when we are done, there will be a world of zone+magic that has no laming in it,I'll make sure of it, and so will ceserthen

Yes this might be true, the overall idea of the project right now is like a bowl of wet clay forming over a wheel, one wrong move and the server will be bad, and I mean BAD. Anyway when we get the idea finalized I'll post some screenies so everyone can see. Anything a player might want in the server can easily Pm me ideas how to or not make the server unique. Besides why would I make server like zone. at current (ignore some of the first post

) The main common points betwwen furioso and zone is 1. they both have guns, and 2. It's in the future. Personally I can't blame anyone from saying it's like a "Zone with a Zew Skin" my first post made it sounds a awfully lot like that and my apologies to anyone confused by this.
