Post Graunch: Graal Launcher tool

Graunch has been approved by Stefan as a Graal Online tool.
Currently it will be posted here on the forums until we agree on some other means.
I have been doing a lot of work on version 1.7, if you'd like to see screenshots or get some information on it check http://projectglitch.razza.org

Please do not ask to be a beta tester, the team is currently full.
For complete information and to download Graunch you will need to complete the free registration on my website then check the Software section, current release is v1.6.

I just altered my system path and added a special directory so I could launch my programs from the run command. The GUI is hideous - I could help with a better one if you need it.

It does much more than that, v1.7 will have live server stats (name, player count, most players, language, etc.) a custom image browser for heads, shields, etc. and the list goes on.

Just wait for the release of v1.7 and you'll see all it can do.

Problem resolved, v1.6 is up and downloadable again.
Sorry for the problems.
If you have any problems with the program please be aware that v1.6 has 2 known issues.
1. It must be in the Graal folder.
2. Always on top function can not be properly turned on/off, it defaults to on.

These are allready fixed in v1.7

This is true, you don't have to register and Graunch may not even be on my site much longer anyway, just depends on what Stefan wants to do.

However if you have any problems with the programs or want to make any suggestions the only way to report them is to register on the site and make a post.

Any ideas given to me that are used get put in the programs credits along with the persons name/nickname that gave me the idea.

Notice: Update on v1.7 listed on GN website along with new screenshots. 1/22/07 12:01am Central time.
Was going to do a demo video but without audio it came up to over 500mb, so sorry no video.

Yeah, you might want to invest some money into a server to store uncompressed video... Just a thought.

Actually i have pretty much all the space i want/need, i just don't feel like taking the time to upload a video that size, I mean over 500mb w/o audio is crazy and i was planning on adding in the audio (me explaining how Graunch works as i use it).

I was going to add an MOTD to the program, but an auto-updater might be handy as well.
Thanks for the idea, pm me your Graal nickname so i can add you to the credits when i put that in.

And Googi, get over it, no matter what i do you have a problem with it, i'm sorry your life has to be so but leave me out of it... i welcome all ideas but comments like the ones you leave are generally useless and pointless to no end.

Since you can do it all through a batch file i suppose your batch files can show live server status, check to see if players are online, browse Graal images, and play mid, mp3, and wav files?

Oh I know you use image programs and probably windows media player for those, but why waste the time to open the files, then go back and open a different, but i'll just stick to my program and save myself a load of time.

I swear to god right now im going to be watching the posts in this thread and if anyone agrees with this logic im going to smash my computer monitor with a hammer.

This is the same logic that Excalibur used for making the "DR Computer" on his server and I think everyone within earshot bashed the hell out of it.

So im going to start here too and say that I would run all the extra programs because it really isnt that much trouble.

AndEdit: Why is it that people with the most pointless additions and who can hardly help seem to [b]always[/b[ get noticed?

I was thinking the same thing, yet alone thinking that people can customize hotkeys to open up programs with a click of the keyboard.

To each their own, do as you wish... some people will use Graunch and others won't... nobody is telling you that you have to use it, if you don't want it or don't like it just leave it at that and let the rest of the people enjoy it.

He may have meant for v.1.7 to do that and the current one is 1.6.

If I were going to make a program, I wouldn't release a version with no useful features and then promise useful features in the future, I would wait until I had actual useful features and release it then.

Yes, I was aware that they were features you at least plan on implementing in v1.7, I was also aware that v1.7 isn't actually available.

And actually i'm not "planning" on it, again... read, those features along with several others are completed and ready for the release.

Because planned future features don't make the current version any less redundant.

In a way yes, but they are allready part of the program so they will be there upon release, so that's not a plan, it's definate.
it's just a matter of when it's released, and right now i'm working on a tokenize code to parse out certain elements in the firend check code.

Features that are going to be released don't make a program any better. Windows ME wasn't made any better by features that were going to be released in XP.

Not to mention we don't know how well these features will be implemented. Maybe they will be implemented well and be useful, maybe they won't be - we don't know.

why do you even post such negetivity? Why don't you just wait for the release with the stuff on it. then add comments, or "constructive" critisism. If you have nothing useful to post then why post it? I think this will be a useful program, Judging from what V1.6 looks like.

and whats wrong with releasing a beta version? you have to see what the people think. I don't think i've seen a program ever released without beta versions.

I'm sure a lot of people will enjoy a program that launches all graal programs. Why run back and forth between applications? when it's all right there in front of you.

you should just stop posting your negetivity, and keep it at your house. nobody wants to here it.

Telling people about how there are better ways to go about doing the things that this program does seems fairly useful.

I'm not criticizing v1.6 for not being v1.7, I'm criticizing v1.6 for being redundant.

Because they can use a batch file or even just place shortcuts on their desktop and avoid using a redundant middleman program.

I agree, over the years your constant negativity has become more like a crying baby, a baby that nobody really cares to have around.
And ya sure, do it all through batch files or shortcuts, but then again you just missed another point of the program... time and space saver.

You just can't admit when your wrong and we are all quite use to that, so we'll continue what we've been doing and listen to you cry about everything cause nothing goes how you "believe" it should.

Personally I take more comfort in my run-based shortcuts than a VB Launcher with God-knows-what in it.
