Equipment Show; Hide

Well, im sure some people will agree with this, and some will not. But I am sure this is something that I would find very useful.

There are lots of graphics on which people WANT to see, and there is more than 90% people DONT want to see. The ability to have an item show or not show would bring back graphical diversity, seeing everyone in PMoP and FHoM is getting rather old.

Example of how the UI could look;

Of course, you could also add armor to show/not show.

As for now, I think an option for Cloak + Helmet to show or not show would be very useful, and it is part of 2 of the other mmo's I play, and it is very useful.

Well, as an alternative you can plead for newer, better looking graphics.

Lol, that would never happen. Even if someone MADE better graphics, its not like the staff would do anything about it.

I also veyr much like the show UI you made, it'd be very nice. But like every other good idea on this forum......

Tried. People kept throwing gfx at Bjorn, he doesn't do a damn thing with them. Donald pimped my Hammorogue, but Bjorn refused to upload it.

In all seriousness, this is probably the absolute easiest way to solve the problem of everyone looking exactly the same. I didn't realize we were playing a wild west server until last Christmas. Please, let us have a shining silver hair without losing the speed bonus.

Actually, I got this idea from more than 1 game mang. One where you involved battling guilds, and one where there was a world with a little bit of warcraft. Though, in those games there is a variety in armor, due to its achievable by anyone, and not the people who have money can get (like graal).

Making entirely new ARCH files and then applying new graphics to each would be a huge pain in the ass - then you would have to update the alchemy system to give out these new arch files rather than the original, ugly, ones.

It'd just be easier to add a on/off feature, as suggested :P

It should be easy to make it possible to hide armour/clothes. In certain sparring/battle situations it should be forced to show them though (so the other side doesn't feel like getting killed by a newbie without armour).

Stefan, if you would, please enable the hiding of things other than helms and cloaks. Apparently, you can't hide body armor (PMoP) and Shields. However, if people decide not to have their shield showing, they also should not be able to use the blocking gani that shields use. Other than that, the system is a freaking sweet addition.

Thumbs down Not really

That hide function is a severe blow on the nose! Why the hell we need to hide armour? GK is a RP server. Now everybody is a wizzard and can make woosh and hide his helmet? So let's switch GK to a PK server and get rid of the kingdoms.
Now we do not need any new graphics for helmets and cloaks anymore, very cool.
And when the function will be enable for body armour and weapons we are all much more happy and free...

weapons shouldnt be hideable...if you want to hide your weapon, unequip it.

other than that, sounds good. i remember, before mech lost out on everything because of ibonic, that ugly ass pmop (no offence to whoever made it) but i couldnt stand the colors, and it only matched with the fhom...THAT EVERYONE WORE...every fighter looked the exact same, minus there weapon.

I don't see a big problem with hiding the helmet and cloak, at the end they only give some stats and change your look. Hiding the look is ok since people cannot use it to prevent having other items, it's just showing their normal hair and allows better customization.

Yea...I don't see the point in hiding a weapon...thats epically retarded IMHO.

I take that back..There might be some points to that, but in the most case its not really needed...but the armor...theres some armors that are epically ugly, and just deserves to be hidden, like the plate mail of Balor. xD

Otherwise, Hide shield, and armor is all thats left to be enabled for hidden mode. =p

Sam, I can also point out several reasons that statement isn't entirely...well...needed.

Psssttt... GK has no RPing.

Also, it is because players have very little variety currently that this was demanded. And there seemed to be no indication of any major updates coming in the near future. I don't see the big deal, players didn't want to look the same as everyone else. Like Stefan said, more variety.

I agree armor should be hidable.

I'd also like to know who's directly responsible for this update... I'd like to give them a cookie.

Well it's not the problem of not having enough variety, the problem is that players always want higher stats. A better solution would be to introduce items of the same stats but different look ?
